PS3 Jailbreak 3.55 OFW Help Please

I just bought a 3.55 OFW, I've been looking online and from a guide I saw he said to install kmeaw's cfw through usb, and then install Rebug 4.80.1 for CEX consoles.

All I want to do with my PS3 is play PS1,PS2,PSP & PS3 Games from my external HDD, I don't really care about going online but I do want to get DLC/Updates for my games.

So my question is, what do I need to do to play all those games, and what do I need to download (compatible emulators, homebrew, pkg files, etc). I'm a complete noob any help is appreciated!

We have some here (most PS3 stuff is on our old site) but I would check the Reddit page as it was updated not long ago by @DerfJagged and contains a decent summary of commonly asked questions.

If you're on a 3.55 OFW console you may be able to jailbreak it without downgrading etc.. which model number console is it to be sure?

Many recommend the latest Rebug 4.80 CFW and the latest 4.81 Spoofer since Sony's currently on 4.81, and as @misiozol mentioned MultiMAN 4.80 to run game backups and homebrew, emulators, etc.

Thanks for alll the helpful answers, I've successfully installed Rebug 4.80 and Multiman.

But, after I installed my first game to my internal HDD it stopped reading the NTFS partition and only my fat32 partition. I've been using FTP to get around this but its extremely slow, does anyone know how to fix this.

Also all of my converted ps2 classic iso's dont play. It just goes back to XMB and if I click play disc I get froze on a black screen. And my psp games say I'm not on a cobra fw? So I can't play those either.

Regarding NTFS, i've never used ntfs partition on for external so can't help you there. Although I think there is probably a setting in multiman that may fix that.

For PS2 classics maybe you did something wrong with the conversion or maybe it is something in the ps2emu settings, there are 2 different ps2emus that you can set it to use so could be that. You can just play them from iso though once you have cobra enabled. Speaking of which......

You need to go to rebug toolbox (if you haven't already installed it it should be in package manager somewhere (I forget which folder) to install). You can enable cobra using the toolbox, it is deactivated as default, not sure why. Although in my experience PSP games don't work on Rebug 4.80 anyway.

FTP is always slow and unreliable it can hang for no reason is only good to transfer iso's , ntfs was always hipe of crap better to stick with fat32 even do is ancient , for classics to work need them to be in internal hdd and in rebug toolbox need to enable cobra and toggle ps2 emu options

I have read so many things here but it is not clear to me if the MinVerChk just shows the firmware or downgrading it.

Ιn few words:
If you run the file "PS3UPDAT.PUP", you do upgrade? Or Just shows the firmware version without any changes?

Just shows lowest FW possible to install.
