First post here and I'm in a bit of a pickle already.

I have a jailbroken PS3, with kmeaw 3.55 cfw, and I normally use MultiMAN (latest version) to play games (I recently got the PS3 from my grandpa just days ago). I'm attempting to play both Project DIVA F and Project DIVA F2nd (Project DIVA F is JPN region, and Project DIVA F2nd is USA region) and everything works perfectly fine up until I actually want to save, to which I always get the message, "Save failed."

At first when I got Project DIVA F to run, I got the same message of "Game failed to save," and assumed that it was the game. But when I tried saving with Project DIVA F2nd, I got the same message.

I tried using Gaia manager in hopes that perhaps it'll work there, though I get a different error (8001003C), although I'm trying to fix that.

I just want some help with saving.

A bit of background info:
- I run games externally using my 64GB USB.
- That's about it, I thought there'd be more, though I guess I can't think anything out of the top of my head right now.

I tried searching up online to see whether anyone was in the predicament I was in, but I was unable to find anything. I'm really thinking I should just format the hdd, see if that helps (feel free to tell me whether that's a wise decision or not).

I won't be able to do anything suggested to me right now as it's pretty late, but I will do them tomorrow.

Hopefully someone is familiar with the 'save failed' error to lend a hand on that, and a quick search of the 8001003C error code seems to point to a common issue when trying to play newer games on older Firmware... with a work-around being to hexedit (with WinHex for example) the EBOOT.ELF although the values to be changed vary per game to get them working.

You could also try one of the PS3 resigner apps such as TrueAncestor_SELF_Resigner_v1.98.zip or ESSSE RESIGNER v4.5.4.rar to resign the EBOOT.BIN and edit the PARAM.SFO with the included PARAM.SFO Editor (older version Mirror).

Another work-around is to simply try one of the more recent 4.81 PS3 CFW's such as Rebug 4.81.2 CFW, and as you mentioned be sure to use the latest multiMAN v04.81.02 on it.

Personally I'd try the latter since your PS3 is only on 3.55 Kmeaw at the moment as it sounds like the more hassle-free solution over time... if it works. Good luck! ;)

I have to sincerely thank you for your reply. Turns out installing rebug cfw actually helped my saving situation! I guess cfw was the issue. Perhaps had to do with MultiMAN. Doesn't matter. I'm able to save now, and I can finally play my game without having to grind every single play. Considering how uncommon the saving issue was, I was ready to lose hope.
