About PS3 MANAGER

[ FOR WHO HAVE DOWNLOADED THE VERSION 0.30 or 0.31, PLEASE DELETE IT AND DOWNLOAD THIS ONE (0.32) ! THERE WAS A BUG THAT PREVENTED IT TO WORK ]

PS3 Games Manager version 0.32 (beta) is a totally new and revolutionary manager application for the PlayStation 3, that features a lot of new functions and makes managing your games a totally new experience.

I release it under GPL license and open source.

The software is written in PHP and Javascript, runs on Apache webserver (or any other webserver supporting PHP and running on Linux) and uses Webman APIs to control the PS3 remotely from any computer browser and any mobile device.

It completely eliminates the need to use Webman or Multiman with the joypad to launch games from the PS3 itself.

A version that will be able to run on a Windows webserver supporting PHP will be also released soon.

A brief list of the features is:
  • Automatic recognition of the game ISO fle and automatic download of the CD cover and all the game details from Metacritic (Game name, Release date, Score, Description, Publisher, Developer, Category)
  • Very nice web graphic interface and extremely easy to use.
  • Launch and Umount games straight from the web interface.
  • Reboot and Shutdown the PS3 from the web interface.
  • Enable disable game data for external USB drive connected to the PS3.
  • Monitors and displays CPU temp, Internal PS3 hd free space, USB external PS3 hd free space, Total number of games ISOs added.
  • Automatically keeps track of every time you play a game and counts the times adding a IOS style badge to the CD cover displayed on the web page search results.
  • Ajax js interface to search for game name, description, category, publisher, developer in real time.
  • Order results by Metacritic Score, Last played Games, Date Added Games, Games Never Played Yet, Name and Random selection.
  • Easy configuration and installation.
  • Voice recognition (English only so far).
  • Lots more features to come.
Requirements:
  • LAMP environment (Linux+MySQL+Apache+PHP) in a VM or on a real machine.
  • Network share folder containing the PS3 ISO files and PS3Netsrv++ to share the files with the PS3.
  • PS3 modded and Webman installed.
  • PS3 accessible via the internal network.
  • A lot of joy of playing :)

I dont understand this, what is the novelty with this thing ?? Is this a trick to steal cids or accounts data ?? i dont understand... a pc, a ps3, a web site... no,no,no,thanks.

I'm looking at the data itself to see what this is cuz I also see ps4 support using the same file support for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64)

https://github.com/francesco2013/PS...etacritic_api-master/libs/Unirest/Request.php

This is kinda unique or should i say not. think of watching a movie over a stream like a streaming service to play games using iso files using webman idea. i wod not trust this anything you stream can capture ip address along with any way of data from one system

Thanks for the heads-up @Chaos Kid... I wouldn't use it myself, but that's mainly because I no longer have a PS3. :D

For those still interested in it, I've updated the main article with version 0.33 now also.
Hello PSXHAX people,

My name is Francesco Fazio and I am the developer of PS3 Games Manager.

I am reading through your posts and sincerely I am shocked by your comments.

Here your are clearly showing that despite the fact you did not even bother to try to install it and run it you are spitting random mud on the hard, totally free and purely enthusiastic work I have done completely alone.

I initially started writing it to help my daughter of 5 years old to be able to choose the games she wants to play without my assistance and to make her playing experience easier.
She loves to call the game she wants to play using the built in voice recognition that I implemented in the application with the help of free voice APIs provided by api.ai.

I released this application with the ONLY SCOPE to make other PS3 users like me improving their experience in managing their backups in a totally revolutionary and easier way.

@player1: "I dont understand this, what is the novelty with this thing ?? Is this a trick to steal cids or accounts data ??"

Stealing what ? What the hell ? Are you for real dude ?
I certainly assume you arrived at this brilliant conclusion after a meticulous and deep analysis of all the source code released. I also bet surely your broad experience with PHP, Javascript and Linux Administration contributed widely to your amazing discovery ...
I have one question for you Sir. Did someone ever bother to mention you that accusing people of STEALING is a quite serious crime called defamation ?

@Chaos Kid: "This is kinda unique or should i say not. think of watching a movie over a stream like a streaming service to play games using iso files using webman idea. i wod not trust this anything you stream can capture ip address along with any way of data from one system"

I beg your pardon .. my software is streaming what ? How would it work to stream an ISO file exactly ? I am really curious please be so kind to enlighten me.

PS3 Games Manager is nothing but a PHP wrapper around the Webman APIs and the game is loaded and mounted on the PS3 calling URLs from the PHP code directly to the Webman webserver.

@Chaos Kid: "https://github.com/francesco2013/PS...etacritic_api-master/libs/Unirest/Request.php"

If you would have spent a little more than 1.4 seconds looking at my code, you would have noticed that metacritic API is nothing but a very simple yet efficient PHP class that allows the PS3 Games Manger to automatically download Release date, Score, Description, Publisher, Developer and Category relative to the game itself.

I hope you realize the complete bunch of nonsense you wrote !
I strongly demand your apologizes to have been accused publicly and unfairly in front of a huge audience represented by the readers of your website.

Francesco Fazio
I am currently working at a Windows version of the software that could allow users with no Linux skills whatsoever to run the app straight from their desktop and will perform the installation of the database backend and of the PHP webserver automatically.

I estimate that in a week or a little more I will be ready to release it and I will post it here.

Thanks.

Francesco Fazio

I have seen many things in my time here including the exact reason of y the scene is hurting today due to this greed n selfishness that's going on walking in high and mighty attitude trying to act better then the rest.

Streaming iso Yea considering the hosting website says ISO if you read and cobra uses this method over a network so while you barged in here with big talk trying to make the rest of us look small you can always point out the ignorance or stupidity fame seeker who has something to prove. That being said I also know that your using java code similar to webkit which I'm not against but how it's utilized can intact actualy be dangerous but knowing how wrappers work n hard inbedding works can be used for other n farther methods then your aware.

Experience in power asm is where you learn we all see differently and not thro your eyes n some of us have bin here a very long time to know n understand this stuff so it's not that we or any1 is knocking you, we gave our input to what we can read and see

Thanks for your response. I was waitting for it here, i didnt go to the other sites you posted your work.

First of all, you should know something about a console scene: the fact that everyone is considered guilty until proven innocent.

Your knowledge about programming this or that is not warranty of an ideal and correct use of your code or tool.

Exactly minutes after you posted your work some people in some places of the world was "analyzing" what you did, but not with your same good intentions. This is not a pc, man, we havent all the tools or counter-meseaures to defend any potential "sniff or steal" action, and a "totally free and purely enthusiastic work" could means nothing to the end users.

What we said here is not against you, your little girl, your family or anything else, its just a expresion of years of experience in this world, and that is a value by itself.

If you are looking for recognition, well im sorry, just make and deliver something we all could considerate risk free just when we hear about it, at least. No need to go too technical, maybe you only have to expose some details considering the possible security issues if they exist or not.

In other words show us you have respect and consideration for your own work, remember we are not you and the world is not your house.

Maybe the problem here is the way you introduced something you regarded as a instant succes around the world, even when well intentioned and a bit ingenuosly, it sounds "rare" without more details. What happens if tomorrow we see an "unofficial" version of your tool.

Think about this. Ill be here to listen your "next level" explanation if you want to do so, aside if i use your tool or not.

No problem if you probe im wrong, i hope you do that, is not my ego on the table here.

This is a good place to do it, even when you are a bit annoyed now. Have a nice day you and your family.

Saludos.

A version for windows it is one the way that will be installed with a setup.exe and you will have all your A/V and firewall freaking tools you want and even more to check it is 100% secure.

I will release it within the end of this week. The Linux version has already reached almost 2000 downloads from 74 different countries. So far not even a single issue has been opened on gitHub.

I have received a lot of emails of people thanking me for my work, something I really do appreciate.

I am sure since the vast majority of people are using Windows I will get more thank 4 times the number of downloads I have got with this one.

Stay tuned :)

Thanks.

Francesco
