Today GameSpot reports that according to Bloomberg charts Nintendo's market value is now worth more than Sony's since the release of Pokemon Go.

To quote: "Nintendo's value reached $39.8 billion on Tuesday, beating out Sony, which stands at $38.34 billion.

The dramatic-looking chart below highlights how Nintendo's shares, and in turn market value, rocketed since the release of Pokemon Go earlier this month."

:poll: Has anyone here played Pokemon Go, and if so is it really worth all the hype? Comment below!

Thanks for the news @Jeff - mainpaged now! :)

I've been trying to avoid the Pokemon Go craze, but it's quickly becoming unavoidable as it's all over the freaking place.. UGH! :p

Well it's free, so you might as well give it a shot. I'm not a serious player by any means, but it's a fun little diversion and it's fun to visit the waypoints and catch the Pokemon. It gets me a little exercise too. It's a good icebreaker for meeting people too, because it's fairly obvious when they are playing.

It's crazy that Nintendo's value is now higher than Sony's. Sony makes TVs and runs movie and music studios.

Oh boy, I won't download it. and never will! I don't want to copy and follow people. I wonder why why they wants to play this stupid app and copy and following people to download it?

Congratulations, stupid Nintendo of Japan for damaging people's culture. I bet president of Nintendo don't played it. They are just making a profits and be rich and travel anywhere to have fun instead.

It is disgusting and too many people are glue their eyes on the smartphone's screen on the go. Its annoying. I am glad that I am not one of them.

I just heard that ppl divide it 2 groups, one that play pokemon and other one have IQ over 80 :D , that's not my word just what I hear around ;)

@azoreseuropa: Lot many people would like to try it without having to pay for it. So I guess its OK. I do agree with you that Nintendo should not take the customers for a ride but thats the case with all the company. It's the customer who has to be careful. Frankly speaking I would love to try the app but if it starts asking me to make payments, i will immediately uninstall.

@misiozol: I am sure that the people who wish to play pokemon and who fall in 1st category would have more IQ than 80 as most of them would like to try the app but not make any payments.

At least I am one of those who would like to try but not pay for sure that too after reading about the shootings and other short comings. To evaluate, demo is fine provided that the user gets to see the best of what the game has to offer.
