    There are many limitations with BD-J in regards of speed, API's, input controls, etc etc. There's no SDL or OpenGL or any 3D API. You're working with Java 1.3 from 2003. But as we can clearly see, that doesn't mean you can't do anything with it. :) I don't know how much speed a Gamecube...

    A few emulators has already been ported/created for BD-J. Like a NES emulator and Gameboy emulator. Even an Apple II emulator has been made for BD-J. So I see no reason why you can't make any kind of emulator you want. There is only the question of audio to figure out. Not sure how to do that...
