Following his DarkNet 4.81 CEX V1.00 CFW, today PlayStation 3 developer @darkjiros updated the CFW to DarkNet 4.81 CEX v1.00 COBRA 7.3 PS3 Custom Firmware complete with source code and the changes detailed below.

Yes you can do it that way if you are on firmware 3.55 or below.

If what fails to do what? If you mean the minverchk fails it is supposed to fail to update, it is just supposed to tell you whether or not you are able to downgrade far enough to be able to install CFW. It won't damage anything.

i mean the jailbreak process. can i downgrade/jailbreak it w/out e3 or anything? just a pendrive?

If it was on 3.55 or below you could have, but since you're on 4.81 that isn't an option and a hardware flasher is needed.

I will try to link to that more, but I still like to talk in the threads so it gives the forum an overall sense of being friendly and active instead of just cold and robotic 'link' responses.

This is what I do all winter long with my freetime, so I want to have fun interacting and becoming friends with members so that when there is a real PS4 jailbreak they will all remember their good experience here and return hopefully.
