jailbroken ps3 question as a noob

i have a ps3 that was jail-broken but recently had over heating issues it was stalled away for a time as have upgraded to ps4... however still love the ps3 and mw3 lolz..... so i have since fixed the overheating problem... so now ready to set back up however i find there is no hard drive in there i have purchased a new 500gig and need to re install ...

so the question is can i install CFW off a USB pen stick or do i need to re-e flasher it and do complete jailbreak again ??? can anyone answer this before i install OFS ???

If it was on cfw install hdd, and install SAME cfw that it was on console if it's NOR model , if it's NAND model just fit hdd and be happy
