MakePFS: Utility to Build PS4 PFS (PlayStation File System) Images

We covered how to bypass PFS protection and we've seen PFS Keys recently, and now developer maxton (Twitter) of the PlayStation 4 PFS extractor GameArchives has released MakePFS which is utility to build a PS4 PFS (PlayStation File System) image!

To quote from the README.md: MakePFS

A utility to create PFS (Playstation File System) images.

Usage:

makepfs -o pfs_image_name.dat -r /path/to/root/directory [-b BLOCKSIZE]

Options:

• -o filename : Sets the output filename for the image to filename.
• -r /path/to/root : Sets the directory used as the root of the filesystem.
• -b BLOCKSIZE : (Optional) Sets the blocksize of the PFS image. Default is 65536.

When I UnRAR'd that with WinRAR the content.pfs was present in the resulting directory... or did you mean how to unpack it further?

Previously I used GameArchives ArchiveExplorer (has PS4 PFS support to open, view and extract files... newer versions HERE / Latest Version GIT) to unpack PT: Playable Teaser's pfs_image.dat and obtain the chunk1.psarc which was then further unpacked.

No how i can decrypt and extract .pfs files...

Besides Dumping PS4 Disc Games the only thing I've seen is Decrypting and Dumping PS4 UserModules, if anyone knows how to do PFS files let us know... Thanks!

hope when ps4 ofw 4.50 releases we can run homebrew, linux and backup games on all ps4 fat, slim and pro with external hdd support
