MrNiato PlayStation 4 Testkit DUH-T1000AA DEX 3.50 Firmware Demo

Earlier this year we reported on the PS4 DevKit / TestKit Root Kernel Dump and today MrNiato (Guillaume Leleu aka H7K3R MrNiato) of the H7k3r Team (Official Site) shared a video demo of his PlayStation 4 Testkit DUH-T1000AA DEX 3.50 Firmware for those interested!

Here's what MrNiato had to say, roughly translated to quote:

PlayStation 4 TESTKIT DUH-T1000aa (DEX Official) in version 3.50. Console so wanted the normal price is a little less than a minimum wage.

Shown in the video:

• Debug Settings.
• Installation of PKG.
• Connection since the PC with neighborhood for PlayStation 4.
• Connect with a simple tool directed by sc58.

No it's not a PS4 jailbreak!!!!!

While this isn't the first time we've covered both the PS4 Development Kit (DUH-D1000AA) and PS4 Testing Kit (DUH-T1000AA) and the Activated Testing Kit, it wasn't on a version 3.50 Firmware unit which is always nice to see in the hands of developers outside of Sony.

Here are a few things that have been done with retail / debug PS4 consoles thus far:

• PS4 Development Menu (Debug Mode) Enabled on Retail PlayStation 4
• PS4 FTP Server & Debug Settings Join WebKit Playground by Fx0day
• PS4 ShellUI Debug Functions Revealed & Kernel Dumped by OwlBin

It depends what MrNiato's intentions are... he could share info, files etc with other PS4 developers or he may work on his own or not do anything public with his PS4 Testing Kit beyond the demo video to stay out of Sony's radar.

Time will tell, but here's to hoping he'd like to see the PS4 hacked wide open
