Just when most figured the previous OFW revision would be the last System Software update for PlayStation Vita, Sony decided to release PS Vita Firmware 3.68 which likely patches holes preventing fun things like jailbreaking, running exploits and homebrew on the handheld console. :sneaky:

Those interested can check it out below, and as usual it's advisable NOT to update for most sceners who didn't get a PS Vita or PlayStation TV to use it only for vanilla mainstream retail games and applications.

Thanks to haznpapo for the news tip, and as always when Sony updates their official site and details come in from PlayStation Vita scene developers we'll update this article with what's changed or patched in the PS Vita System Software 3.68 update.

@Sirfredi I personally just play games that are on the hackable firmware and below there are plenty of games to play that's why I'm not rushing also for firmware above 4.55 for PS4.

@rugga
Of course there are games to play ... and in psvita of course because it is at the end of its life (in Spain it is not sold, it has stopped distributing), but in ps4 I am not so in agreement

It is important to advance in ps4 because there are many interesting new games and above all many updates that we can not use right now.

I just don't get it. For system that they no longer sell or support, why keep updating the security? Nintendo dropped the Wii U updates the moment they pulled the system.

Its costing Sony more money constantly updating a dead console, for what amounts to chump change on the software royalty side. Its not like Vita games are flying off the shelf, in America or Japan. odd.

The Vita is still kicking with many J-RPG and a few Indie titles (along with cash transactions that are so common in games nowadays) so it isn't really hard to see why they are still wanting to prevent illegitimate use of the Vita. Now the PSP 6.61 update was very strange as only one game was released so many years after its official death.

Well I was an idiot and, lost my main Euro Account. AFAICT I still have access to my seldom used US Account. The PS3 itself has also been revoked. So lessen learned.

By the time I updated my Vita to Henkaku 3.65. I also took the liberty to create a new dummy account. Which as far as I know is still in good standing. But, was created with an easily forgettable email address. And throw away password. So as to be able to get it activated as such.

But yes my Henkaku 3.65 is currently spoofed to 3.68.

But, one thing I would like to know is how do I manage the DNS Server on Henkaku 3.65? I seem to recall there being an option to input one that prevented the Vita from just automatically downloading, and possibly installing such Updates for you. It was one of the first features I missed in this current release.

Forget that crack about what I just said I must have been blind the last time I looked. As having just looked for the DNS Settings again I was in fact able to locate it, and input the DNS Server 212.47.229.76. Into my Vita, so hopefully I won't have to worry any more about it.
