How To Install PS-Phwoar! On Your PS4:

There are several methods to install the menu to your PS4. You can install the menu from a USB drive, from a PC, from an ESP board or from an Android device.

Install From USB:

First copy the 'PS-Phwoar.USB' file to the root of a USB drive and plug it into your PS4.

Using your existing exploit menu, use BinLoader to load the 'PS_Phwoar_Installer.bin' file on your PS4.

The PS-Phwoar! Host Menu will now be installed to your PS4 Browser and to the UserGuide.

Alternatively if you have internet access on your PS4 you can go to: leeful.github.io/usb to install the PS-Phwoar! Host Menu from your USB drive.

Install From A PC:

If you want to load the menu in the PS4's Browser use the 'Server For PS4 Browser.exe' and follow the instructions it tells you.

If you want to load the menu in the PS4's UserGuide use the 'Server For PS4 UserGuide.exe' and follow the instructions it tells you.

Whichever server you use, once the PS-Phwoar! Host Menu has finished installing on your PS4 you can close the server and the Host menu will then always load from your PS4's internal cache.

Before you install PS-Phwoar! on your PS4 it is advised to first clear your browser settings so that it does not interfere with any previous Host menus you have used.

To do this open the Browser app and press the options button then select: Settings > Delete Cookies > Clear Website Data.

Install From An ESP Device:

Flash the PS-Phwoar!_v1.0_ESP.bin file to your ESP8266 device using NodeMCU PyFlasher v4.0 found here:
https://github.com/marcelstoer/nodemcu-pyflasher/releases

The WiFi settings for the ESP are:
  • WiFi-SSID:PS4 ESP HOST
  • PASSWORD:12345678
Use either the PS4 User Guide or the PS4 Web Browser URL at: http://esp.com/index.html

HOW TO SET UP ESP

On the PS4 go to:
  • Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Use Wi-Fi > Custom
  • Select 'PS4 ESP HOST' from the list and use the password '12345678'
  • IP Address Settings > Automatic
  • DHCP Host Name > Do Not specify
  • DNS Settings > Automatic
  • MTU Settings > Automatic
  • Proxy Server > Do Not Use
Test Internet Connection:
  • Obtain IP Address : Successful
  • Internet Connection : Failed
This is perfectly normal because you are offline when using the ESP. Press the PS button to go back to the PS4 Home Screen.

Install From An Android Device:

If you have installed xPloitServer on your phone before you must uninstall it first and also delete the xPloitServer folder from your phones storage.

1. Make sure that your PS4 and phone are connected to the same network.

2. Install and run the xPloitServer app on your phone.

3. When the app has loaded press the 'Start Server' button and enter the exact address it tells you in your PS4 browser.
e.g. http://192.168.0.14:8080/index.html

4. The PS-Phwoar! Host Menu will now install on your PS4. Once it has finished installing you can close the server on your phone and from now on PS-Phwoar! will automatically load from your PS4's internal offline cache.

If you are having trouble installing the server on your phone, make sure you have allowed installing apk's from unknown sources and that you temporally disable google play protect on your phone.

Credit to @stooged for the original version of his xPloitServer.

Cheers to @DEFAULTDNB on Twitter for the heads-up earlier today! 🍻

HOW TO UPDATE PS4 HEN 2.1.2 OFFLINE via donatelo27
Just edit the index.html & replace the text "Mira.bin" with "goldhen_505.bin" & edit the payload description to whatever you want & copy payload bin to "files" folder.

Then in the offline.cache file just change text "files\Mira.bin" to "files\goldhen_505.bin" That is all I did.

Put up 5.05 PS Phwoar 1.4 with GoldHEN by SiSTRo today. GoldHEN is the default option but you can still use HEN 2.1.4 if you want, as it is moved to the "Old Hen Versions" folder.
Updated my PS-Phwoar & PS-Phive edits to include GoldHEN 1.1 by SiSTRo. Moved both hosts to the same site for better organization.

Here is PS-Phwoar with Goldhen 2.0b. I moved Goldhen 1.1 to the "Old Hen Versions" section if you still use it.

Hey @Leeful !! Question for you... with my recent ps4 app.db getting corrupt and me trying to fix it for over a week using PS4_db_rebuilder and release_0.1.EXTERNAL.zip to no avail.

I ended up using the Ps-Phwoar Host Menu to do backups of:

1/ Database Backup
2/ Save Data Backup my game saves (12 gigs of games saves!!)
3/ Trophy Backup and
4/ HDD Upgrade backup (just in case even though i kind of new I'd just start fresh)

I then re-initialized the ps4... put Ps-Phwoar Host Menu back on, plugged in the usb i backed things up to... went into the Save Data Restore --searching usb drive --> no valid backups!??

Then I tried Trophy Restore --searching usb drives for backup---no valid backups!?!!

Then i thought i'd try the HDD Upgrade Restore and it didn't work either!!?!?!!

My yearsssssss of games saves- i have to have them back? Can you help??

One other thing ON A DIFFERENT TOPIC - i noticed different from your video is when i navigate in your menu and select something and it loads (enable Hen for example) I can not then go chose another thing like ftp etc...

I HAVE to back out of internet and go up where norificatins /friends etc are and then go back in to be able to then choose another option? ((back button "o" just hangs ))

@stripnwild Database, Save Data, Trophy and HDD backup/Restore all work fine if you use the same profile on your PS4. It has always been the same for any type of PS4 backup. You cannot use any PS4 backup on a different profile.

The problem is that you initialised your PS4 without backing up your profile. It clearly says on the HDD backup payload in steps 2 & 4 to make an official backup of your profile.

When you initialise your PS4 your profile ID will change, that is why the restore apps cannot find a backup anymore.

I fully tested all the Backup/Restore payloads and they work fine. I even installed a different HDD in my PS4 to test the HDD backup/Restore and everything restored back after I restored my original profile.

Unfortunatly I don't think there is much hope for your saves any more because your profile ID is now different because you initialised the PS4.

You could try and manually change the Profile ID to your new one in the databases but I dont think that that would work because the saves will be signed to your original profile and console ID's which are now different.

RE: Not being able to choose another payload after Hen.
After you have used a payload you must use the PS button to exit the menu, not the Circle button. This has always been the case.

I would still keep hold of your saves just in case someone finds a way to manually re-sign then in the future.

I am so sorry that you have lost your saves but you did initilise your PS4 with out making a profile backup first.

On a positive note you still have most of your games because you have them on your apptousb drive so you can use those pkg's to re-install them.

@Leeful hmm.... I thought I backed up everything i could backup before wiping. Once the ps4 re-initialized it is using the same profile name of "User1"? (so the profile ID is the same) Ya...really sucks I even backed up the avatar but guess i missed a profile backup? FML!

Thanks for the heads up about having to back out using the PS4 button! :D (I could have swore i watched a vid where a guy was selecting different payloads sequentially without backing out) Then again I've been all frustrated trying to rebuild this damn ps4 after the unfortunate corruption of the app.db

Ya maybe I can find a way to still use all those backed up saves (saves from years ago ) sighs. Anyway thank you sir for the help and reply!! :)

Yeah, the user name is different from the profile ID. The profile ID is used in the PS4 filesystem to identify each user.

e.g. Currntly on my slim my username is Leeful and the internal profile ID for that is 19bc2209.

If I initialised, I could create a user named Leeful again but the profile ID would not be 19bc2209 anymore.

@Leeful I'm pretty sure i did those steps Ie use the offical backup to backup the profile. I haven't deleted anything off the external hd that i backed everything up to... maybe i can still get it to work.

I'll trouble shoot tonight if i get a chance :) Worse case scenerio I'll have to replay 400 games lol

@stripnwild That's good news. :) If you did make an official backup it should be on your USB under PS4/EXPORT/BACKUP/xxxxxxxx/archive.dat +archive0001.dat etc.

If you restore this backup using the official restore method you can at least get your saves back if you then use my HDD restore payload. :)

Although this wont fix your database issues as the database backup you made was a backup of your faulty database. It just restores the copy that was on your PS4 HDD, it cannot fix it.

@Leeful I'll check.. it is quite probable that i didn't do it (at the time i might have saw official backup and figuring im on exploited i skipped this step who knows) I'll have to see tonight --shrugs.

As far as the database.. meh... fresh blank PS4 is fine by me... i just hate to loose the saves (especially since i've been doing all the ps2 with codebreaker - half those titles involved manually entering the codes in codebreaker save so ya... lol)

I know there is a thread on using game saves other then your own... I'll have to start delving into that --- oh boyyyyy lol

hhahahahah will either be a big happy face tonight or a big sad face ;)

Update: I have that backup! PS4/EXPORT/BACKUP/xxxxxxxx/archive.dat +archive0001.dat

It was the copy I did where I managed to restored/rebuild the app.db were the internal games worked just not the external. So I'm backing this up first (569 gig) because the drive is iffy 😮

But I think it may work ..but if it restores all the old app.db that is half broken I'll have to try to fix that... or is there a way to restore just the profile?

@stripnwild I'm not sure you can choose what you restore (like you can choose what to back up).
If not you will have to restore your full backup.

I'm curious, are all the missing games PS2 games? If thay are, that is why the db fix script was not work for you. It does not fix homebrew or PS2 titles. It only fixes PS4 games.

I have been loving this, it has brought new life into a system that has been sitting there cold. Love that I don't have to have anything connected or follow a list of to-do's to get where I want to be. I have only had one hard power off after many uses.
