PS3 rebug 4.80 black screen issue

Hello forum,

I have a ps3 with following details:-

Ps3 model : cex
CFW : rebug 4.80 rex edition
ReactPSN installed
Cobra mode enabled
rebug mode enabled

So i have a problem with a particular back up of NFS RIVALS DUPLEX BLUS31201 version. When i load the game through multiman it loads successfully and returns to xmb. when i click on the game it goes to black screen and hangs up. At this point i have to force reset my ps3 holding power button.

I successfully have other back ups working so i dont think the issue has anything to do with cfw. I could be missing some obvious setting or something that i dont have installed to get the back up to work properly.

Things i have tried to solve the issue but did not help

1> Bd rom emulator enabled
2> QA flag enabled
3> Tried fixing permissions on the back up and still black screen
4> BD MIRROR set to on and running from internal
5> Downloaded 2 different copies and still issue persists

None of the above solved the issue for me. Can somebody help me to get NFS RIVALS backup working??

It's quite simple: 1. get BD game disc, 2. dump game from BD disc, 3. live happy life

It sounds like you did everything right @GentleMachine and as you mentioned other games do work.

I wondered if NFS Rivals requires a fix like those from opoisso893 (aka backport893) but the only thing I see in the Need.for.Speed.Rivals.PS3-DUPLEX (11-16-2013) notes is that it requires 4.50 CFW+:

Has anyone else here played this game with PS3 Custom Firmware and if so on which CFW and settings?
