Since reporting on the much welcomed news of PS4 homebrew on 4.55 OFW, today following his PS4 UART to DCSD Project updates PlayStation 4 developer qwertyoruiopz announced on Twitter that he discovered a kernel bug in the official PS4 Firmware 5.00 and while making Sony nervous is busy exploiting it naturally!

While we're all eagerly awaiting more details on this and new KOTF PS4 game releases check out some of the related Tweets below, as follows:

Thanks to @ArthurBishop, @B7U3 C50SS, @Bultra, @dxbline, @mcmrc1, @raedoob and @UmarDaBest559 for the news tips in the PSXHAX Shoutbox earlier today! :D

How about, until something is actually in your hands? You stick to lowest firmware possible.

Who in their right mind would instantly go jump to latest firmware, because some primmadona, who's notorious for crying wolf, says he's penetrated the latest? Do you people even have brains? lol

People following qwerty on twitter sound like a bunch of fiends trying to kiss ass for some heroin. This guy hasnt released crap so far and loves the attention and the weight of you guys hanging around his nutsack. You all sound pathetic calling this guy amazing and a god. Whenever you see a post about an exploit just move on.

i'm glad im seeing at least movement and progress in the ps4 scene. I say lets let these guys do their work in peace and once they release something we can start the ass kissing lol too much hate going around for dudes doing free work for something we'll hopefully end up benefitting from in the long run.

is there a way to selectively update to a certain firmware version? Or do i have to update to the latest firmware once i decide to update?

So... Ditch the 3.55 and go to 4.55?
No, stick to what you have. Updating is easy. Going down is usually impossible. Until nothing is confirmed, sit tight and don't do anything. You'll thank yourself for it later. I am only on 4.55 myself since I have a PS4 Pro and I wanted to use the Pro's boost feature.

qwertyoruiopz is crap dev
he is greedy and will not release exploit all the time for fck sake
He can't release nothing, because nothing he has. Simply!!

All other devs release everything, for sharing, for funny. It's impossible that he has Solutions for highter firmware and the other not. Who is him? GOD? Is sony's spy? Does he believe to be better than who work for sony?? ALONE?? He only want attention. He must be isolated and ignored. We want FACT NOT PICTURES

...Honestly if this is real it would be cool... but qwerty doesn't exactly have the best reputation...I think qwerty just wants attention... if he decides to show us more solid proof then I will believe him... of course if it turns out to be real I won't kiss his ass...i'd say good job and go on with my day

I think they'll release 5.01 so I wouldn't go beyond that. Most would say it's better to stay on as low as possible but IMHO they won't exploit something like 4.55 or 4.73 as 5.01 is already exploited in private so I would update to 5.01 and stay there if I was you.
