Recently developer Fire30 shared on Twitter some PS4 Firmware 6.20 Build Strings which have been added to the Dev Wiki displaying the current status as 'dumped' leaving many asking the proverbial question of ETA WEN for a public kernel exploit release to complement the PS4 6.XX JSC_ConcatMemcpy WebKit Exploit so PlayStation 4 consoles on recent Firmware can be jailbroken.

Previously Fire30 publicly released a PS4 Webkit Exploit PoC for 2.XX OFW, PS4 HENkaku Exploit for 3.55 Code Execution and FireKaku PS4 3.15 / 3.50 OFW Ports of the exploit... so although he may decide not to do a public 6.20 release at least he has a track record of sharing his findings publicly with the PS4 scene in the past. :lovewins:

To speculate briefly, besides obvious legal hassles a reason he may opt against doing a public 6.20 kxploit release is what developer @Mathieulh (Twitter) mentioned on Discord last month... to quote:

"No one is interested in doing a release for various reasons including how we don't have any other exploit chain after this one XD"

Like it or not, that's a compelling reason to keep things private (for the moment) among PS4 developers since end-users can still obtain jailbreakable consoles if they're willing to pay what those selling them are asking.

If I'm reading this right, it's the same entry point for 5.55 which Sony hasn't fixed yet. Makes no sense to burn an exploit if you don't have another one. One day this'll be released, the only question is before EOL (if Sony fixes it) or after EOL.

If they release it now, even if the entry point is the same, and will be patched.... How long will it take before 6.20fw becomes as 5.05 is today?

Enough time to find another one, for sure. Even if this is only entry that they will ever find.... Ps4 is at the end of his life, many people will buy ps5 at day one, and will buy again remasters, maybe there will be backward compatibility, so exactly what we lose?

You can always update....

@Broka Wow. That is such an insightful response. It's definitely not an eye roll whenever anyone says THAT!

So @Broka.. lets get the ball rolling and see you set up shop on "Hacking 4 Dummies" class. Let's just forget trusted Developers weren't each of them pulling a rabbit out of a hat, and let's forget their years of knowledge was collaborative and shared within their organization. Further ignoring they received inside intel from Sony engineers themselves cluing them in on avenue's to explore.

@Broka .. Is it that simple a crash course from Lynda.com ? Pave the way on how to hack for dummies and I'm on board.
