Since the 4.55 PS4 Holy Grail release today PlayStation 4 developer @XVortex announced HERE that PS4 Homebrew ENabler (HEN) for 4.55 Firmware is now released with the latest version linked below.

While deimei1430 reports that "VTXHEN is more stable I don't get any hang or random shutdown," Valenroy also confirms that "installation to external HDD is still not possible yet."

PS4 developer VVildCard777 made available DumpFile455, and @stooged also shared some related PlayStation 4 updates today, including Ps4_Serve2_v1_5.apk and usb_455_vr_hen.zip updated with XVortex 4.55 HEN + Update Blocker and added the modded HEN with VR Enable mod.

Making rounds on Twitter of interest today as well:

exFAT support on external HDD... Instructions are kinda ambiguous due to translation I guess... Will test it out after I get home from work...

IT IS REAL
1) works only with fpkg
2) game/app must be before installed as usally on internal
3) copy ps4-pkg2usb.cfg to usb root
4) edit config title_id with game/app title_id
5) always use the same usb port when you installed game
6) to reinstall game to internal hdd, remove and reinstall as usal
tip: if you still have the pkg and you want to avoid wasting time waiting for the file to be copied from the payload on the usb HDD, copy the pkg to X:\PS4\CUSAxxxxx\app.pkg

That's great, looks very similar to the Database mod that was posted here a couple of months ago that didn't work. Do we know if this also removes the app.pkg from the internal when it copies the file over to the USB?

After reading the instructions more carefully, basically it's a two-way process that requires you to install the game to internal hdd first (as before) before running the payload to transfer it over to the external HDD... it's not the most elegant solution but it's a good start nonetheless, thanks for the work guys. I'm pretty certain it will evolve to the day when the fpkg can be installed directly to the external HDD without the intermediate step.

The payload effectively creates a folder on your HDD ... USB://PS4/CUSAxxxx/App.pkg which contains all the game data that you would normally find on the internal.

Once it's been installed, the console should shut down. You would only need to enable HEN to start the game (as you normally would) when you reboot.

Hi
May i know the game i already installed on 4.05 if i upgrade to 4.55 still need to reinstall?

How about the save file in 4.05 will it still there?

@xenosys

exfat then put PS4 folder in it then put CUSAxxxx in PS4 folder then title.pkg in each CUSAxxxx folder according to title.pkg and install it ?

I have an android with PS4_Serv2 for 4.55 but I never have done how to use hotspot and disconnect wifi and etc. Need a tutorial for newbies. Thanks.
