And from the README.md: PS4Linux-Payloads

Linux payload for PS4

  • 6.72 - 9.00
Why this repo ?

I just wanted to keep all PS4-kexec with fix in the same place, also i wanted to build payloads do separate folders.

PS4-kexec is the payload ?

NO, the kexec here is for boot a custom kernel the payload (main.c) here is for boot the os and kernel by using the kexec.

You can find a better explanation here

How I compile the payload ?

You need some dependence, you can install them with these command.

Ubuntu/Debian
Code:
sudo apt install build-essential
sudo apt install yasm
Arch Linux
Code:
sudo pacman -Sy base-devel
sudo pacman -Sy yasm
After that just go to the root directory and run the make command

I have a error when I try to compile the payload

You can leave an issue or contact me on Twitter

sleirsgoevy for the payload, tihmstar for 7.02 offset, codedwrench for 7.55 & 9.00 offset

New jailbreak user but old Linux user. Excited to try out Linux on the PS4. I definitely miss the old modchip scene vs this softmod method but I will take what we can get for now until a true modchip is available to solder in place.

Hello and thank you for the tutorial.
Big problem. I manage to land on the Shell interface to run the installation of the distribution. Problem, although I plug in any usb keyboard, nothing works. I guess it's a problem with the USB controller. What to do ? thank you.

I'm trying to install linux on the internal hdd of my fat belize ps4. I have copied the files to my ps4's hdd but everytime I run the linux payload I get no signal on the tv and then my ps4 turns off.

I have tried with different kernels but I can't get it to work. My ps4's firmware is 9.00. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I have some advice = if you can't see the login screen, turn off the TV or change the HDMI channel and then press ctrl+alt+F2 followed by ctrl+alt+F1.

Maybe it is possible to download the latest mesa from the software center, but if the mesa are not patched you may have many glitches. Updating the kernel is useless.

@naxil i read your post about PS4 linux video artifact on any emu / games / browser, i have the same problem, but i can fix it. can you help me post some images how you fix it, thanks!!!

A good way is reinstall the distro... if you use method1 (rescueshell install) just take the tar.gz and overwrite all file on 2nd partition. And never never update mesa via apt/dnf/pacman because on repo the mesa isn't patched for ps4.

A good way is make a separate repo for ps4 (for kernel, mesa ecc). Lsmod not work, kernel is inside bzimage so update it is useless...
