I think that the upgrade takes me off the custom drivers and puts me on something that causes screen tearing. How can I revert to the working Catjaro or psxitarchv3 video drivers?

Also, is this thing run by .xinitrc or something else? How do you change from XFCE (catjaro) or joe'swm (archv3) to i3 and maybe even GDM to LightDM without breaking the whole thing?
