Proceeding the PS4 Remote Play Enabler PS4REN v2.0 update and the PS4 Remote Play Without PSN Access PS4REN Guide, this weekend Sinofevil1997 shared a backup archive.dat dump via @zecoxao on Twitter allowing those not already activated to 'hacktivate' their PlayStation 4 console and use features including PS4 Remote Play on 6.72 without PS4REN alongside copying saves without requiring Charlyzards's PS4OfflineAccountActivator (PS4 Offline Account Activator GUI) tool. :fire:

Download: BACKUP.zip (258.76 MB - contains archive.dat)

A brief summary from the Tweets embedded below:
  • so ever since I asked for a ps4 backup, four people volunteered, I've talked with 3 over DM, two offered a backup, but since I only need one backup, the one that is going (and doesn't have important account info from user) is from Sinofevil1997

  • with this backup, users that are not activated can now "hacktivate" their console and use features such as remote play without the need for HEN and also copying saves without the need of charlyzards tool.

  • for those wondering about what to do with the archive.dat shared yesterday by Sinofevil1997, it needs to be in a set of folders like so: PS4/EXPORT/BACKUP/(DATEOFBACKUPHERE)/archive.dat. Then you use backup and restore utility on retail ps4 and select the restore option

  • as a heads up you'll lose ALL data after the restore, so make sure you back it up first, using either ftp, backup and restore utility, or a raw hdd clone
seems that ps4 remote play for testkit only works properly (proper rendering and smooth speed) when the *** being used is the same as the pup installed. for instance, if you have *** 8.00 installed and you're using pup 8.00, it'll work fine...
additionally, the keyboard can be used as controller, whereas on other firmwares outside the scope of the ***, the controls from keyboard are greyed out

@sonicman2k8 @DeniZz did you find solution? As far as I understand, Remote Play version 3.0.0 will do the trick, but I am out of luck to find it.

Versions 2.6-2.8 are still available but from version 3 Sony uses bootstrap installers. Installer from archive.org for v3.0.0 fails because actual setup msi package (RemotePlayInstaller_3.0.0.09250_Win32.msi) no more exists on the server.

So, if somebody have an idea where to grab version 3 please give me a tip. I don't even hope to find the original installer, but I can't find Remote Play v3 in the 'already installed' state either.

Btw, I can't believe that major version 3 is not present in the Internet! This was sole version on the Sony site for almost whole 2020, for 7.xx firmware.

In a previous thread @Leeful recommended PS4 Remote Play v2.8.0.3041 to circumvent the PS4 update nag, however, things may have changed since then as that was in 2020.

Below are some more topics with alternatives to Sony's PS Remote Play, sorted by date with the oldest first:
Most likely there are work-arounds that don't require an elusive RemotePlayInstaller_3.0.0.09250_Win32.msi, otherwise that necessary file would be archived on many sites is my guess. ;)
