The Internet is abuzz today as longstanding video game industry insider Tidux tweeted out some pictures of what appears to be a new PlayStation Controller, rumored to be everything from a PS5 / DS5 Controller to a PlayStation 5 DevKit prototype used to develop and test Sony's next-generation titles. :fire:

According to Daniel Ahmad (aka ZhugeEX on ResetEra forum) back in January of this year, to quote:

"PS5 dev kits are out there and I've heard positive things about it. But I wouldn't expect any information in the immediate future."

In recent months we've also seen both a PS5 Concept Design video featuring a touch screen alongside a PS5 User Interface Concept Design video by Joseph Dumary... only time will tell how far apart these ideas are from what Sony ends up delivering for their PlayStation 5 console and DualShock 5 Controller. :sneaky:

Damn as if controllers werent expensive enough i suspect these touchscreen controllers will be about 129.99... ughhh wont be playing any frustrating camping COD games lmfao... stick to my openworld single player games...

Oh good, a little touch screen, as if the DS4 isn't already over priced and underpowered in terms of battery. I hope if they go this route that they will at least put a proper battery in this time. I honestly don't see the need for a touch screen, just another thing that can break and increase the price for no proper reason.

IMHO both appearance & ergonomics are ugly! It seems like hybrid of x360 controller + ds4. DS4 was very comfortable, except low battery & nasty "always-light" panel on it... DS3 was small, child-sized, but has huge 1,5 days lasting battery. Best way is leave DS4 design, remove touch & light panels & insert +3-4 power battery inside

I'm sure, that this will never be the release ps5 controller. In my opinion - if it is really from dev kit - this controller is only for testing new functions - the design would be in another develop process.
