PS5 CFW and Hacks       Thread starter PSXHAX       Start date Jan 12, 2021 at 12:19 AM       6,419       19
Thus far we've seen some PS5 Game Dumps from groups including BigBlueBox, JRP and PS5B in the PlayStation 5 Scene, and recently the aforementioned signed an official PS5 Scene Rules agreement going into effect as of 2021-01-15 00:00:01 UTC setting standards that releases are expected to abide by for distribution on topsites without getting nuked or deluser'd by overzealous siteops. 💣

For those new in the scene, typically release groups have a WHQ (World Headquarters) alongside a few Headquarters (for example, East Coast HQ / West Coast HQ) and the warez files will trickle down from pre-sites (Pre-release FTP servers) to the regular topsites in the hierarchy... eventually making their way to more risky paid-slot servers (Honeypots notoriously ran by Feds to carry out raids) and then to end-users through private and public Torrent trackers, P2P (Peer to Peer) networks and Web sites.

Most scenes have rules for couriers who obtain 'credits' by uploading files which meet universally agreed upon conditions, that can in turn be used to download content they're seeking (essentially a 'ratio' arrangement similar to private Torrents, with the exception being that couriers have access to the latest 0-day releases which may not be available elsewhere yet).

An archive of Scene Rules is available including multi-lang / non-English rules covering everything from eBooks to MP3's to movies and video games with the Pre-Release Database, Categorized 0-Day and Scene Release listings updated automatically via scripts as new files are added.

That said, here's the current PS5 Scene Rules / PS5 Release Standards for those interested:

The below PS5 release standards were nuked by Sheepnet for the reason of "no.working.concept.to.play.dumps_invalid.till.workaround.arises.Sheep": Official.PS5.Release.Standards.v1.0-2021

It would be nice if inside politics were kept out of nuking decisions. Currently, there is a method to dump games, and the three groups releasing these created a standard to keep uniformity amongst the releases. There is no reason why there shouldn't be a ruleset for releases that are actively being released

We hope you will come to your senses and unnuke the standard. The releases will be released regardless, and therefore it's better to have a standard dictating the standard to adhere to

Ah the good old PS1 days. I remember doing the swap trick when I borrowed cousins PS1 and he lost some cartridge that used to stick in the back to make disk swap easier.

DUPLEX may well follow the structure set out to make future scene releases less complicated. It serves neither the releases nor end user by having a complicated collating system.

interested to see where this goes. Bigbluebox tends to release stuff no one else is releasing or stuff that can't get played yet. though we might be nearing the end of exploits as consoles get patched while still remaining scarce.

For those following I updated the OP with the most recent PS5 NFO files, the latter of which states the following in response to these rules:

It appears drama is already underway in the PlayStation 5 scene between groups and siteops. 🤪

Excellent video! I was thinking something like a kind of password on the disks or the colour of the disks, but I wasn't expecting it to be a mechanical impossibility on the CD burners!

Thank you for the info @PSXHAX ! <3
