Here is a to-do list that we'll update periodically as stuff gets done! ;)
  • Replace the current temp default avatars / site logo with nicer ones
  • Improve colors (UserNames in some areas) and add flat themed / updated style
  • Add Cufon, FontAwesome or Google WebFonts typography
  • Add login integration for Facebook, Twitter and Google users
  • Add Affiliates, a Tag Cloud and Categories to the right margin sideblocks
  • Add support for Disqus and Facebook to comment directly on articles
  • Add anti-leech script to prevent hotlinking of pictures and save bandwidth
  • Add more smilies, of these we have 12 31 96 at the moment = booo!!!
  • Add a realtime chatbox such as TaigaChat Pro or a similar add-on
  • Transition from HTTP to HTTPS (SSL) for better security
  • Fix anything reported as broken, and break what's working in the process lol
  • Add user suggestions from below
We'll Sticky this thread for awhile and see where it leads us :)

PS: Ignore the video above, it's just a responsive embed test example with the lame annotations stripped :p

Done! I've also added an About the Author section for whoever posts news here and would like to share a bit about themselves, their interests, etc.

Added some PlayStation button smilies from the old site and imgfast as well.

Can we have a Game section for the consoles where the members can discuss about the games they own, play or plan to buy and give feedback too.

Something like a Gamer's Lounge forum or review section?

Hmmm... do you have any specific examples (from other sites) or how we could set it up layout-wise I mean?

Definitely a good suggestion though! :)

Gamer's Lounge will be right on target.

It can be done in two ways:

1.) We can have a "Gamer's Lounge" sub-forum in Off-Topic section and then have different sub-section "PS4", "PS3", "Wii", "Wii U", etc.

2.) Have separate "Gamer's Lounge" sub-forum under individual forums (PS4, PS3, etc.).

These sub-forums once operational would need to be monitored so that only one thread per game is made by the member(s) and all the discussion related to the game is done within the topic.

Any trick or tip shared by the members(s) should automatically be displayed on top or grouped together with the main post / 1st post.

Well... could make a bunch of subforums, the main issue there is we already have a lot of forums all with very few posts in them.

Typically 'Webmaster' recommendations are to start out smaller and then as the community/traffic/posting increases expand the forums accordingly... with their stance being if there are too many empty forums it makes the site look like a skeleton frame with no real content and few people end up checking/using all the individual subforums.

What about something like a single Gamer's Lounge forum (or subforum) where prefixes are used to designate console platforms?

For example: [PS3], [PS Vita], [PS4] etc... this way it would be easy to identify which console's game the poster is discussing but they would be all in one place versus having to hunt and sift through 15+ subforums for all the consoles out there.

Thoughts? And others feel free to comment also if you have any ideas or feedback on this topic! :)
