Proceeding the PS4 DevKit / TestKit Memory Tool Preview & Game Mod Demos by data miner @Speclizer, the latest findings from his YouTube Channel via Twitter include a variety of unused The Last of Us Part II Multiplayer Asset Files featuring level 3 armour with a stealth backpack, helmet models, dogs, maps and hints of a TLOU2 Battle Royale Mode possibly planned for Factions 2 before being postponed and eventually discarded by Naughty Dog developers. :unsure:

From the included README.txt: The Last of Us Part II Model Editor - v1.02 By Speclizer

1. characters.bin needs to be in the same folder as the tool. So extract characters.bin from bin.psarc under bin\dc1\look2\ and place it in the same folder as the tool.
2. Rename characters.bin to characters_clean.bin. This makes it so a fresh unmodded copy is automatically loaded into the tool on boot.
3. Search for an actor you want to replace. This will add the model to the drop down menus. An example of an actor is "ellie-santabarbara" or "joel-t1-hospital".
4. Press "Write Data" when you have selected your model to replace and when you're done, build the file.
5. Rename the created file to "characters.bin".
6. Create a patch4.psarc archive with the path: \build\ps4\main\bin\dc1\look2\characters.bin and place patch4.psarc in your root game folder.
7. Add the model assets to pak68.txt

Other Features:
  • characters.txt is used to pre-load actors into the tool without having to add them manually through the search function.
  • You can swap parts of a model so an example of a part of a model is "ellie-jacket-cloth" or "tommy-farm-head". To swap parts you MUST have the "Actor Part"
  • check box checked otherwise the tool wont find/swap the data correctly. Don't forget to uncheck it when you are swapping full models.
  • The "Replace?" group box gives you the option to choose whether the skeleton or other model part pointers will be replaced or not when you click "Write Data" button.
  • Pointers (P1, P2, P3...) - can be used to swap parts of the actor, best to keep them checked and replace the parts directly instead.
What's New? v1.01 (06/04/2022):
  • Fixed an issue where actor data for specific actors could not be found.
  • Fixed an issue where some actor parts would show up invisible when swapped.
  • Added more error handling.
  • Made form larger for more space in combo boxes.
  • Added an option to reset the changes you have made.
  • Added ability to preload actor parts using characters.txt.
  • "Actor Part" check box is no longer required to search for actor parts.
  • Added an option to change the size of the actor you are replacing.
  • Added an option to save the character list as a txt file so it can auto-load the next time you launch the tool.

What's New? v1.02 (07/04/2022):
  • Fixed an issue that caused the swaps to be inverted.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to crash if you swapped some actor parts.
  • Fixed an issue with the actor scale option not applying to the correct actor.

Hidden Multiplayer Assets in The Last of Us Part II (Battle Royale, Maps, Dogs)

Didn't mention it in the video but in the development footage, there's a compass and a player count which is usually only used in battle royales. Oh and there's also an emote wheel script.

I'm really looking forward to factions 2, I don't think a battle royale mode would be a bad addition to the game!
