According to VGC, however, Xbox Series S won't run Xbox One X versions of backwards compatible games... Microsoft confirmed the cheaper next-gen console will run One S versions with its own enhancements, to quote:

The console will instead run Xbox One S versions of Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles, with some of its own enhancements including auto HDR and ā€œmore consistent frame rates.ā€

ā€œXbox Series S was designed to be the most affordable next generation console and play next generation games at 1440P at 60fps,ā€ a Microsoft spokesperson told VGC.

ā€œTo deliver the highest quality backwards compatible experience consistent with the developerā€™s original intent, the Xbox Series S runs the Xbox One S version of backward compatible games while applying improved texture filtering, higher and more consistent frame rates, faster load times and Auto HDR.ā€

Now the ball is officially in Sony's court... here's to hoping they also confirm the PlayStation 5 pricing and release date in the near future. šŸ”®

Personally I'm surprised the next-gen Xbox pricing is lower than I'd have expected, not holding my breath for Sony to match the pricing considering Jim Ryan's previous remarks though... let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on our PS5 Forums! šŸ˜²

This is really good news  but now it is time to wait and see what is the configuration and compare realistic.

I will never buy a digital only console. I love buying used physical games for cheap, and I can easily trade some with my friends. also, I am a guy who loves collecting many things including games. in the far future (several years from now most likely, unless i find some incredible deals) I will get both the Series X and the PS5 disc edition, but i will never touch the discless PS5 and the Series S.

Not me digital games have no value I am glad we got places like limited run games that make disc versions of indie games. I hope they continue to do it on the PS5 I support them.

TBH, the XSS specs are sick at that price, when talking about consoles. The digital PS5 had better not be much more. I'd say SONY has this gen locked with 350/500 pricing. It'll be a bit dicier if it's 400/500. $50 is an easy mental leap for real next gen, but $100 may as well be the grand canyon for us poor folk. I think that the digital PS5 vs XSS is the real battle to determine the leader this gen.

PS5 is launch in america only due to covid19, what option do we have to owning ps5 console, i really want to buy Disc version if it is available on my country if it is not i'll buy digital version since it is not a popular version at least i can taste the new game with it

I really think next gen only coming with 1tb and under internal storage is ridiculous, should have been 2tb.

COD MW 2019 only fits @ 150gb:

3 times on XSS
6 times on XSX
5 times on PS5

The internal memory should have also been removable and replaceable but looking at the XSX motherboard it looks soldered. So I assume when the internal storage fails the consoles now just becomes a paperweight cause I expect the OS to be stored on it.
