PS4 firmware 2.04 update question

hi, i am on fw 2.04 - is it at least safe for me to upgrade to 3.55? Or should I wait for a possible hack? Or is waiting not worth it anymore. hopefully a developer can shed light on this because at this point, i feel by the time it comes out the hack it will be too late and technology will have well moved on to a PS5 or at least the upcoming xbox

Just use the PSProxy tool from red eye to stay on a lower firmware. By the way there is a jailbreak ish exploits for lower firmware's so look it up.

But psproxy only works for a much higher fw namely 4.x

And just to be sure are you referring to 3.55 as the lower fw with exploit? Or need i do more research?

Idk what he's sayin but 1.76 is jailbreakable. Others are all private and not released. So if I were you I wouldn't touch my ps4 and do some other things.

cool well thats what i have been doing for at least the past now two years - no touch the ps4 - but i'll take the advise here as legitimate. so i still wont touch it. but i think its just taking a bit too long

Be patient and don't upgrade it, the lower firmware could possibly know a jailbreak for the upcoming months, I know the wait is too long, but it's worth it, mine is on 4.05 and it's been a while since i've not used it.

4.5 offers too much for me not to update. I still feel that 4.5 will be the one that gets hacked finally since it offers so much for Pro users.

You make an interesting proposition lol; because upgrade to 4.5 would allow me to play everything, but seriously, i will wait a few more months; i have a feeling i may just move on though without using ps4 if nothing comes. we will see. i am almost sure 4.5 will be jb to if they manage to fully do it on 1.76 and 3.55 at least

No it can be any just need to rewrite the update-xml file to get it to work, but currently the tool is no longer working for me for some odd reason.
