Hey, I have a bunch of games that were all installed recently that none of them show the game thumbnail, just a grey box with a joypad icon in. Anyone have any idea why this is?

I have reinstalled them which fixes it, but upon restarting the PS4 they are broken again. The games all work and can be played but my OCD hates the fact the thumbnails are missing....

I'm on 9.00, I have 2 ext hdds and i use app2usb to move the games to the drives. Never had this issue before... It only seems to affect this bunch of games.. weird.

Just seen these replies, I had further issues with a couple of games completely disappearing after I had just played and them then exited back to the home screen... I ended up uninstalling everything from the PS4 and shelling out for an 8tb drive to dedicate to the ps4 using the external storage method instead of messing about with app2usb. I'll just keep the pkgs on the 2 previous drives as backup now :)

Yeah I ran things the app2usb since 5.05, its only recently that I've had these problems and it seems to be related to the second drive as all the affected games were on there.

Seems a lot easier imo to use the extended storage way but I guess i'll find out later today when the new hdd arrives. As I said i'll now keep the old app2usb...
so just to be clear you

crash
lose icon
reboot/re exploit
reinstall game to internal (not external storage)
re run app2usb
reboot ps4 icons gone again?

what happens when you check that cusa dir on the app2usb drive and the internal app dir? what is there?

Hello @Irma2021

I just came from work and didnt have time to try it.

I didnt reinstall the games.

- It crashed, and afterwards i played a game, then installed pkgs and when i loaded app2usb it loaded the payload but didnt move anything. I rebooted and when i tried to load the hack it crashed.

After booting ok and loading goldenhen, i used app2usb and all ok. I cant remember if the icons disappeared before loading and moving the games or with failed app2usb load and kernel panic.

- I just checked the external hdd and the icons on the external drive have 0 kb. It needs reinstall. I was thinking rebuilding the database with the developed payload but it cant fix it since the files are 0 kbs.

Just to report the bug. Thanks to everyone!

there are benefits and cons to using either or, the best thing about apps2usb is if anything happens you can just plug it in your pc and manually go through the files and get the pkgs and reinstall on internal hdd if needed or clone the drive if upgrading to something bigger.

also if game icons disappear use iconit or game disappears you can grab the DB file open it up on pc and toggle them back in the visibility column.
