Proceeding the PS4 SalientOS (Arch Linux) Emulators & SteamDeck Distro and Multi-boot PS4 Linux Distros from External USB Drive Tutorial myself (@saya linux), @d4rkst0rm and Lestat___ DeLioncourt made available PS4 Linux BzImages for All Versions of PlayStation 4 Console motherboards (Baikal / Aeolia / Belize) in the PS4Scene with details below. 🐧

PS4 Linux BzImages for All Versions of PlayStation 4 Console 2.jpg

On the PS4 there are 3 types of motherboards:
  • PS4 FAT: Aeolia or Belize
  • PS4 Slim: Aeolia or Belize or Baikal
  • PS4 Pro: Belize or Belize 2 or Baikal
Overclocked bzImages can give sound problems which occur on PS4 Pro, advances in Linux payloads in the future will make it easier to use them.

The use of PS4FanControl set at 60° is recommended (Darkstorm automatically integrates it into its new distributions, since the release of the Saliente)

Thanks to whitehax0r and codedwrench, for making their packages available on their Github and all those who contributed to this (and there are many).

I also thank my team for all the help they gave me for the development of these bzImages, darkstorm for preparing a linux to compile and for finding the file for the leds, Lestat__ for his countless tests and other thoughts.

Update: AMDGPU GLADIUS PS4PRO Registers + bzImages Aeolia / Belize / Baikal

Here are the PS4 PRO graphics card registers. I'm providing the registers + bzImages with these options, on PS4 Pro Belize and Baikal. The PS4 Fat/Slim Aeolia, Belize, and Baikal can use them, but they don't point to these registers + fix gflops (AMD Liverpool = PS4 Fat/Slim AMD Gladius = PS4 Pro).

However, these latest bzImages also have the ability to record another HDMI device with a PS4 Fat/Slim/Pro Aeolia/Belize/Baikal, and I'm including gamer patches. I also filmed the release video on a Belize Linux PS4 Pro + bzImages from the news + USB/HDMI capture card connected to a second Linux PS4 Pro (the Baikal part was tested by Lestat) since the October 2022 release of the PS4 Pro Linux payloads (work by rancido/mircoho + my PS4 Pro)

Spoiler

A graphics card dump was performed on mircoho's PS4 Pro. rancido (team psxita) added a function to the Linux loader that allows clearing the GPU memory just before restarting the PS4 and launching Linux. Mircoho then used it on his PS4 Pro and generated a cik file, then performed tests. I only retrieved the values I include in this release. These bzImages have the same kernel options as my February 2024 releases (gamer patches + PS4 Linux kernel options).

Now let's move on to the May 2025 release: AMDGPU GLADIUS PS4PRO Registers
  • 5.15.15.src-codedwrench-KHEOPS-FullLTO-v2_aeolia-belize
  • 5.15.25-rc1.src-codedwrench-KHEOPS-FullLTO-v2_belize
  • 5.4.213.src.whitehax0r.KHEOPS_baikal
  • And a little bonus, in beta:
  • 6.8.12.src-crashniels-saya_v0_aeolia-belize
  • 6.8.12.src-crashniels-saya-FullLTO_v0_aeolia-belize
For bzImage 5.4.213 baikal and bzImages 6.8.12-aeolia-belize, I did not add a blackscreen fix you can add this bootargs.txt (added next to the bzImage) to fix the black screen. I would like to thank rancido (team psxita), mircoho, codedwrench whitehax0r, and crashniels for their basic kernel source code, lestat triki1 VvSx87 Qba pasmatic LUFFY_YTB95 Arksama001 for the various tests, and LoupBlanc for testing the video capture in Obs-studio with his Baikal PS4 Slim.Team KHEOPS
