Hey guys,

I have a 1.76 but i would like to update providing a kernel exploit starts to peak out...

Can someone provide me with a 4.06 Download & Recovery Download

You have to download them to a PC, then put them on a USB stick using the following instructions to update the PS4:

The following things are needed to perform the update:
  • PlayStation 4 system
  • Computer connected to the Internet
  • USB storage device, such as a USB* flash drive
    * There must be approximately 350 MB of free space.
    • On the USB storage device, create folders for saving the update file.
    • Using a computer, create a folder named "PS4". Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE".

    • Download the update file, and save it in the "UPDATE" folder you created in step 1. Save the file with the file name "PS4UPDATE.PUP".
    • Connect the USB storage device that the update file is saved on to your PS4 system, and then from the function screen, select

      (Settings) > [System Software Update].
Follow the screens to complete the update.
  • If your PS4 system does not recognize the update file, check that the folder names and file name are correct. Enter the folder names and file name in single-byte characters using uppercase letters.
There is also another guide here which may be of use:

Yes it is, the Pro just makes use of some features in it the normal PS4 doesn't but the same PUP file is used on both.

great thanks! I'm in need to try Horizon Dawn Zero and since it seems like the jailbreak is not gonna happen soon or may be available on 4.0x I'm going to take my chance and do an upgrade haha

Sorry last question, what's the difference between firmwares (200+MB) and recovery firmwares (800+MB)? Does it depends on the way we want to install it or if we want to factory reset the console?

Many thanks
