Today @Codsworth let us know about an ESP Host project he's been working on, and shared a guide on a simple way to serve PS4 payloads using the ESP8266 Wifi Module board with at least 4 MB flash. ;)

Today I show you a simple way to serve payload using the ESP8266.

Benefits of using the ESP8266:
  • Extremely low cost hardware, available worldwide
  • Ability to run 24/7 via USB, self-hosted payload, no external apps or programs required
  • Completely block all updates
  • No need for custom DNS server or settings, features automatic redirect
  • Easy to program and update via USB
  • Very low power consumption
Requirements:

  • VORTEX HEN 1.4
Payloads included in esphostmulti.bin
  • HEN
  • HEN+VR
  • FTP
  • DUMPER

Instructions:

Flash esphost.bin using the following command:

sudo esptool.py --port /dev/ttyUSB0 write_flash 0x00000 0x400000 ./esphost.bin
  • After flashing completes, connect to "PS4-WIFI" using "easy setting" then go to [Settings] > [User Guide]
NOTE: Windows users must use the appropriate com port when flashing with esptool.py

NOTE2: Users can optionally flash using the GUI version of ESPTool

Compatible boards:

These are the most popular ESP8266 boards, but any esp8266 with 4M flash or larger will work.

Finally I have a chance to say thank you a million for your modification of that playground. It is working really well and even though I still use hosting from my android (this tiny device still has not been delivered to me), I need to say that I have already forgotten what does it mean to reload webkit or a kernel panic. I really admire your hard work and I will be thankful till my PS4 will not die :)

Anyways I am really sad that you removed your work from your github it made me sad. Because of that I would like to really kindly ask you for sharing your amazing work with that updated payloads at least with us you admirers. It is really shame that I could not catch your update before you deleted it. Thank you for your understanding.
 
@marek256 I modified html code from pixploithost by c0d3m4st4 just to learn html works (Im not a coder lol). Kinda surprised ppl in here use that playground. I never share that to any websites except with my friend.

I need to erase that from repo as it might lead to misunderstanding.

The payloads are from the devs. I just modified and put into playground to simplify the exploit.

Maybe i will upload another playground with same payload later.
 
Codsworth what programs do you inject the payloads to esp8266. with arduino gives error. does not support folders on the server.
