hi guys i need help understanding how backup injection got patched on 4.70+ consoles because i am doing some tests but i need help.

Now from what i understood they patched lic.dat transfer during the backup injection so with the lic.dat missing from the game the game wont work and give some errors so that's why older games that have no lic.dat work but also there a few games that have old lic.dat structure that work but here is the thing that i don't understand whats the difference between old lic.dat structure and the new structure.

i mean they both can't be injected on 4.70+ so why do old lic.dat games work but the new ones don't that's my question any help would be very much appreciated.
 
Maybe if someone can do that it will be helpful. I'll be trying the already reported methods on Castlevania lords of shadows , it has a LIC.DAT , not sure if it's the older structure.
 
I looked at the wiki page you posted and it was very helpful i found that there is a Dat structure version number for lic.dat in the header at offset 0×8 maybe thats how we know which one is old and which is new but still why does the old one work but the new one dont. Does this mean these games have the NEWER LIC.DAT?

Someone having Heavy Rain pls share the LIC.DAT so that we can check it...
I looked at the wiki page you posted and it was very helpful i found that there is a Dat structure version number for lic.dat in the header at offset 0×8 maybe thats how we know which one is old and which is new but still why does the old one work but the new one dont. well there is only one way to find out we need a lic.dat from a confirmed new lic.dat game like gta v or cod ghosts and an other lic.dat from a confirmed old lic.dat game
 
ok here is offset 0×8 from syndicate lic.dat which is confirmed as an old lic.dat game and i tested it myself on 4.81 ofw and worked:

so maybe your games have old lic.dat we still need a lic.dat from a confirmed new lic.dat game anyone that have such lic.dat please post it.

thank you very much for posting those lic.dats now we know for sure that the old and new lic.dats have the same version and taking a look at the whole structure they look identical so i still dont see why olders lic.dats work while the new ones dont now on older lic.dats we can bypass the lic.dat check by using demo's eboot.bin and param.sfo can't that be done also on new lic.dats, maybe we have to dig a little bit deeper.

also can you post a link to fifa's 17 lic.dat since its for sure a new lic.dat i want to compare it to older lic.dats that i have
