PS4 External HDD question

I am wondering if it's possible to use a external HDD on the ps4 I want to transfer my saved game data over to it.

Also if I were to transfer it over and decided I want to play a game I completed can the saved game be read from the external or would I have to transfer it back to the internal HDD

Does anyone know if the PS4 internal sata port will supply sufficient power to run a 3.5 Drive?

I have a Sata Port extension cable which will allow me to use a 3.5 HD with out resorting in using a device such as the HD Bank. Or I can use a 2.5 drive thats 15mm or bigger.
