I hear ya, years ago we used to host all files as attachments but ended up running into countless problems from $ony legal take-downs to forum and database backup / reimport issues (due to size / length of time) and also bandwidth / server issues when hosting file downloads so these days "it is what it is" basically.

None were stored on the site in recent years, all on free file-sharing hosts so there is no easy way to back them all up short of going page by page through the saves posts, getting the file names and looking each up (based on post date) in my offline archive of around 200 burned discs... sadly I don't have the freetime these days.
I don't mind digging up a file to mirror once in awhile, but unfortunately not on a regular / volume basis.

- the exact file name (including extension)
- a link to the actual post containing the 'days gone save'
