Hello, is there any updated guide (i mean, 2017) to play safe in PSN with a CFW?

Is it always safe to update to the latest CFW? No chance of breaking what so ever?

Yes, but that tutorial is 2013! I'm afraid to trust so old tutorial. Sony must have taken measures to improve security. So I would like to know the latest state of the art to play online safe.

Is there a quick and easy method, without actually trying to go online in PSN, to check if a PS3 is banned?

YES its safe.. as long as you get the fw from trusted site

There is always a risk, but here is a guide from February 2017 on avoiding account / system bans on PSN for those using PS3 CFW.

I've read somewhere that since DEX can do some more profound changes in the system, and includes some options to disable stuff, that it's safer to play online. Is that true?

Also, which is the best program now-a-days to safely play online, is it PSNPatch? Just by using it am I safe?
