PSP 6.61 Infinity Hybrid Firmware by Davee, LME & PRO CFW Patch
I was beginning to think our PSP section would remain dormant forever, but PlayStation Portable developer Davee has just released PSP 6.61 Infinity Hybrid Firmware alongside a 6.61 LME and PRO CFW Patch Install Guide video below from The Zett! :)

Download: installer-1.0.tar.bz2 (Infinity Installer v1.0) / config-0.37.tar.bz2 (Infinity Configuration v0.37) / 660_plugins_on_661.zip / Infinity PSP BitBucket

To quote from his Blog: Release: 6.61 Infinity

Here we are at last, the release of 6.61 Infinity. It’s been over 11 years since the PSP was released back in 2004 and it’s somewhat impressive how long this device lasted. There is no definitive end to the representative scene, it just gets quieter and quieter.

build_hybrid.pngI’m not claiming this releases is the end of the PSP, but it is for me. I’ve spent the last few years working on individual work on the PS Vita and other projects and coming back to the PSP in October 2014 to begin this project was definitely nostalgic.

The goal of this project was to bring the missing component of permanent CFW to the new PSP models and firmware. In this regard, I somewhat failed; PSP E1000 is not supported by Infinity due to a lapse in my judgement.

menu.pngYou see, I did all my PSP work up until 6.31 where I setup “base”. I was still working on the PSP when 6.60 was released, but porting my tools was laborious and I just stayed behind. The exploit found in 6.31 was used natively on this firmware, and until I did little more research when things didn’t work on 6.60 the hard truth was that it was patched in 6.35. This mistake (obviously) didn’t stop me from developing infinity, but it certainly was a large disappointment.

Some features have been temporarily removed due to some risks that will be corrected later, namely the update feature within the bootloader configuration app. You can still update to the latest version using the standard infinity installer. These features will be reintroduced when the risks have been...

Metldr LV2 Dumper for PS3 4.75 to 4.78 Retail Consoles by CMX
Today PlayStation 3 developer zecoxao announced that CMX made available a Metldr LV2 Dumper for PS3 4.75 to 4.78 retail consoles!

Download: UP0001-CMX000010_00-METDUMPER0000000.pkg (Mirror) / metldr_475-478_fixed.rar (Mirror) / metldr_475-478.7z (Mirror) / dumpers_421-478.zip (Mirror) by haxxxen

To quote: Today is a special day. This marks an important release. You are now able to dump metldr from a simple pkg install, instead of using linux resources. That's right, thanks to CMX, this awesome bundle allows you to dump metldr without going through red ribbons and debians! :D

Created by:
CMX

Credits:
Flatz, for the original root key dumper source.
Joon and Mike, for the tests.

CMX (he made it all possible)

(The build script is ready to use, but i was too lazy to upload the modified pkg source in the first link :D)

Enjoy :)

Finally, from haxxxen to quote: Since it is easy to port it in a few minutes, i have made now a pkg from erk/met dumper for fws 4.21, 4.46, 4.65, 4.70, 4.75, 4.76, 4.78 (cex or dex)

Btw, you only need 5 symbols, so you can leave and remove the rest: toc, extend_kstack, copy_to_user, memset, memcpy. further it is only syscall table and those 2 gameos lpar thingies needed.

On another note, you should remove/comment new_poke install, since it can mess up with cobra mode. disabled, the dumpers work fine regardless of running cobra or not.

The lv1 patches can be done dynamically with search patterns and only htab and spe patch is needed, since the others are enabled by default (at least on rebug 4.21)
Wii U Coldboothax, RedNAND and Homebrew WIP Demo by Smealum
Today Nintendo Wii developer smealum shared a demonstration video showcasing Wii U Coldboothax, RedNAND and homebrew work-in-progress! :)

To quote from the video caption: This is a video showing some of the progress we've been making on the wii u hacking front. this is not just my work, as it would not have been possible without the contributions of plutoo, naehrwert, yellows8 and derrek.

Basically just shows some of the possibilities that come with having early high-privilege code execution capabilities; we're able to redirect NAND accesses to SD card and run all kinds of unsigned homebrew programs.

This is currently just a proof of concept, and just a week ago i was unbricking my wii u because i'd booked up the setup. this is not in any way ready for public use, and there are currently no clear plans for release.

For now, this is just the result of about a month of hard work that i felt like sharing.
