A few weeks ago we experienced the Destiny 2 PS4 E3 Trailer, and today Sony confirmed the Destiny 2 Open Beta begins on PS4 this July 18th with details and the official launch video below!
To quote from Sony Social Media Director Sid Shuman on all the deets:
Bungie isn't messing around — today they've revealed first details on Destiny 2's Open Beta, kicking off on PS4 this July 18 through July 23.
The Destiny 2 Open Beta will provide a sampling of Destiny's different play modes. Here's what's scheduled for July 18 on PS4, straight from Bungie HQ:
Destiny 2 campaign
You'll get a chance to try the first mission in Destiny 2's campaign. What does Dominus Ghaul want with the Traveler?
Crucible competitive play
The Destiny 2 Open Beta comes with support for two competitive modes. In the new mode Countdown, you'll attack or defend a base on a map custom-built for this new scenario. In Control, an update on the Crucible standby, you'll attempt to dominate zones on a map built for this objective type.
Strike
In the Inverted Spire Strike, you'll assault a well-protected Vex stronghold with the help of two teammates. You can also use matchmaking to join up with a Guardian fireteam!
New Subclasses
Each Class's new fighting style will be available in the Open Beta — that means Warlocks can try out the Dawnblade, Hunters the Arcstrider, and Titans the Sentinel.
How to get access
Preordering grants you early access to the Destiny 2 Open Beta on PS4 starting July 18.
The Destiny 2 Open Beta will also offer fans a chance to check out The Farm, Destiny 2's new social space. Bungie is extending an open invitation to Open Beta players to participate in a limited technical test.
Take a tour of The Farm from 10am to 11am on Sunday, July 23 to see how many players the new social space can accommodate at one time. Note: Most vendors and other services will be non-operational.

Horror fans get ready for some PlayStation virtual reality fright as CastleStepsGames just released their official PSVR trailer video of The Bellows for PlayStation 4.
The Bellows places you into your greatest nightmare utilizing VR and real-life movement to interact with an increasingly frightening world.
Check out the PSVR trailer below, and to quote from their official site: "Of all the things you choose in life, you don't get to choose what your nightmares are. You don't pick them; they pick you." -- John Irving
You find yourself in the shoes of a man alone in his home. The storm has been raging for what feels like an eternity, sleep refusing to fully take hold. As your windows clatter open yet again, you feel something isn't quite right. The lights no longer move as they should, the world around you starts to feel threatening... and an unsettling feeling starts to take hold...
The Bellows is a VR Horror experience designed to play like an interactive movie. Plunge yourself into a world of nightmares and fear, and discover just how frightening the past can really be.
Be aware... Some mysteries are thicker than others. Only the bravest of souls will dare to find the illusive sneaky Chuck.
With Sony's PS4 DualShock 4 controller now officially supported in Valve Corporation's digital distribution platform known as Steam, here's a guide on how to use a PlayStation 4 DS4 controller as a PC gamepad on Steam!
To quote from Tom's Guide on How to Use a PS4 Controller on Steam:
"To get your DualShock 4 set up on Steam, launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode, which is Steam's console-like, controller-friendly interface. From there, go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure "PS4 Configuration Support" is toggled on.
After that, simply plug your PS4 controller in via a microUSB cable or Sony's DualShock wireless dongle. You'll be prompted with a small window for personalizing your controller, which lets you assign a name to your DualShock 4, toggle the rumble feature and set the color, brightness and saturation of the gamepad's top-facing lightbar.
Your DualShock 4 will now be registered to work on Steam, but that's just the beginning of the fun.
If you head to Settings > Base Configurations, you can create button schemes for navigating Steam in both Desktop and Big Picture mode, as well as dictate what happens when you hold down the home button in-game. You can also create game-specific control schemes by simply launching a game, pressing the PlayStation button and selecting Controller Settings.
The amount of ways you can customize your DualShock 4 on Steam is staggering, and reminds me a lot of the fine-tuning options that Valve offers for its own, less-conventional Steam Controller. In addition to remapping every button and adjusting the sensitivity of the thumbsticks, you can also take advantage of the controller's unique touchpad and gyroscope in a myriad of ways.
Want the DualShock 4's touchpad to behave like a mouse? Go for it. How about controlling the in-game camera by simply moving the controller? You can make that happen. If you like tweaking every possible parameter when setting up your controls for games, Steam's DualShock 4 features could keep you busy for hours."
For PC game modding fans here are some demo videos of recent Call of Duty: Black Ops Co-Op Mods from SE2Dev and Chooch via SPi with the details and related download links below.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Coop (Khe Sanh) Black Ops COOP mod with Chooch
To quote from the video's caption: Welcome to a special gameplay video! Call of Duty: Black Ops has a new Co-Op mod!
Made by SE2Dev and still in WIP version, this mod allows you to play most of BO1 campaign missions with friends. Just like zombies. Do not expect it to be bug-free but expect it to be fun.
