Recently we reported on a C Library for PlayStation VR called LibPSVR, and today PlayStation 4 developer j0lama left word that he's currently working on DS4Lib 0.5, which is a Linux Library written to control the DualShock 4 (DS4) PS4 controller through USB.

To quote from the README.md: DS4Lib 0.5

Introduction

This is a simple Linux library written to control the Dualshock 4 through USB.

This library read the data from a temporal file created in /dev/input/ when you plug the DS4.

Funtions

All functions are in ds4.h.

Include this file to your project to can use DS4Lib.

This version

DS4Lib 0.5 supports all buttons except Joysticks positions and touchPAD tracking.

In future versions DS4Lib will include tracking of Joysticks and touchPAD and gyroscope/accelerometer values in real time.

Early this year we saw some additions to the PS4Dev GIT followed by PS4Link Loader with PS4SH ELF Loader Session updates, and this weekend PlayStation 4 Developer BigBoss went ingame with PS4Link and shared the resulting PS4 Proc and Vmap List alongside a PS4Link / PS4SH update for macOS Sierra.

Following his previous update, today PlayStation developer @MrNiato shared a video demonstrating his PS3 Console ID Generator that utilizes an active Sony exploit to get back on PSN, however, he notes this method can be patched at any time.

This can be patched at anytime !!! Using Sony's Exploit.

Why Sony's don't patch this exploit ? Well now if you are CID banned on BO3 or GTA V you can easily return online and ruin these games..... Really strange.

PlayStation 3 sceners might remember similar PS3 applications including PSIDPatch, PS3 IDPS Viewer, PS3 IDPS Changer, PS3 IDPStealer and PSID Generator as well.
