Sony Unveils the PlayStation Plus Free Video Games for May 2019
After so many showers this past April, the month of May will hopefully bring some welcomed relief... and with it also comes the latest PlayStation Plus free video games arriving on May 7th straight from Sony's latest blog update. :coolxf2:

Featured this month are both What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked! with further details on them below from Content Producer Matthew Groizard, to quote:

Let's take a closer look:

What Remains of Edith Finch

From the creators of The Unfinished Swan, the award-winning What Remains of Edith Finch is a highly original and often surreal experience. As the last of the cursed Finch family line, visit your family’s old family home and discover more about your relatives’ untimely deaths through unique interactive storytelling.

Sombre, thought-provoking and at times deeply moving, What Remains of Edith Finch is one of this generation’s most understated gems. If you missed it the first time around, now is your chance to experience it. Winner of Best Game 2017 from the British Academy Games Award (BAFTA), Best Narrative award at the Game Developers Choice Awards 2018 and more, developer Giant Sparrow’s follow up to their debut release, The Unfinished Swan, is a truly a special experience.

Overcooked!

Built specifically with local co-op play in mind, Overcooked! is a fun, frantic and often hilarious experience for up to four players. You and your friends will join forces to become a team of chefs and work against the clock to turn out dishes for hungry customers. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and timing, you’ll need to communicate with each other to chop vegetables, fry steak, stir sauces, plate-up finished meals, and more — all without the kitchen catching fire!

With its cute and colorful stylings, huge range of dishes and kitchen layouts, easy controls, accessible gameplay and a focus on silly, over-the-top antics, Overcooked! is the perfect party game for gamers and non-gamers alike. Play solo or enjoy couch co-op and competitive modes for up to four players.

Both What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked will be available to download from PlayStation Store on May 7.

Kill'em All 1.00 PS4 Homebrew Game PKG by RetroGamer74
Hi guys. After several days of working trying to figure out how to bring mouse behavior to the PS4 in order to be used with the User Interface of my homebrew game, I'm happy to tell you via Twitter here is Kill'em All 1.00 for jailbroken PS4 consoles! :lovexf2:

Download: ED6433-BBFF12362_00-0000000000000000-A0100-V0100.pkg (1.33 GB) / GIT

First release for PS4. Maybe some bugs. Who knows :smilexf2:

From the README.md: Kill'em All (PS4)

Very important!! How to control it?

In the User Interface

Kill'em All is a game with a very extensive GUI. So the best option for PS4 to manage this is using the DualShock touchpad as a mouse.

1.- So when you've got to interact with the User Interface just move your finger on top of the touchpad. You will see a magic icon appears on the screen.

2.-Drag your finger over the touchpad until you reach the button or item you want to select.

3.- Remove a bit your finger from the touchpad. This effect makes the item be selected. You will see how its look changes.

4.- Finally press the touchpad. It is the click simulation.

So, move cursor over the button dragging with your finger, remove your finger a bit when you are over, then press touchpad.

In the gameplay

For the gameplay you will use the Right Stick to look around and AIM.

R1 for doing ZOOM, and quit ZOOM. R2 for shooting.

DPad. Left => Change to the left cover. Right => Change to the right cover.

That's all.

I will put here images to explain it better in a few.

Download

You can download it from Releases.

And this is how it looks in PS4:

Sony Financial Results Meeting: No PS5 Release Before April 2020
Proceeding confirmation of PS5 backwards compatibility and 8K output, it appears is Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is finally starting to open up with bits of information on their next-generation PlayStation 5 console! :sneaky:

According to WSJ Technology Reporter Takashi Mochizuki via Gematsu.com, as part of their FY2018 Consolidated Financial Results meeting today Sony stated the PS5 will not launch within the current fiscal year that ends on March 31, 2020... according to Ace Research Institute Analyst Hideki Yasuda it won't be expected until November 2020.

Here's what else came out of the fiscal year meeting (18q4_sonypre.pdf) from Sony thus far from the Tweets below:
  • No next-gen PlayStation launch over next 12 months
  • PS Now has been ave. 40% annual growth since launch, now 700,000 users
  • Much of Y31.1 billion (difference between past fy op vs this fy op outlook) to be invested to develop next PlayStation console
By the answer from SIE, "the possibility that the next generation of PlayStation will be out by April 2020" is now 0.
