Following the initial PS4 Keystone File Details, PS4 Keystone Archives and Keystone File Testing updates PlayStation 4 Scene developer RoosterTeethForLife has made available an Add Keystone GUI v0.11 with some updates below for those experimenting with them. :cool:

Add Keystone GUI is a simple tool to add a keystone file to an existing fake PKG.

Please note that this tool has just recently been released and may contain bugs. If you encounter an error, send a PM to RoosterTeethForLife.

Known Bugs:
  • Using a keystone or PKG file with spaces in the path will cause the tool to not work. Ensure that the path to your keystone and/or PKG does not contain spaces. (This will be fixed in an update very soon)

  • Don't use it if you just want to generate keystone when creating fake package.
How to use if you want to add your keystone file to the fake package:

1- First you must have 'Fake PKG Generator v3.38' in order to use these tools.
2- Extract 'Fake PKG Generator v3.38' to a new folder and copy these tools to the same folder.
3- Run 'gengp4-patched.exe' tool first to generate GP4 file which include keystone in it. (this is a patched version of Vortex's tool)
4- Run 'orbis-loader.exe' tool to load and patches 'orbis-pub-gen.exe' to add your keystone file when creating fake package.

Finally, I hope that you use these tools in your dumps instead of generating keystone when
creating fake package, so you can have a real working backup with official saves support.

Need some clarification:
So I know that running gengp4-patched includes keystone into the pkg.
What's the point of orbis-loader? Does it patch the keystone so I won't be able to use retail saves?
 
no orbis-loader patches orbis-pub-gen to use keystone included in gp4 project after generate it with gengp4-patched
 
Awesome thanks! I was just confused after reading the comments on this thread. I thought gengp4-patched creates a .gp4 file that includes keystone and orbis-pub-gen.exe just parse the .gp4 file. I guess both needs to be patched to include the retail keystone in fpkg. (y)
 
What I've found that using the gengp4 + orbis-loader doesn't work for me when creating LTOU - remastered backup. It would error out in the interface, at least when my console is on 6.72.

I read from modded warfare's guide on Youtube that the current GUI version of the tools doesn't work well on 6.72 and that using the command line was better on 6.72.

What I do is use:

orbis-pub-cmd img_create --mod_pkg --oformat pkg --no_progress_bar --skip_digest --tmp_path temp <gp4 file> temp/build
then I manually add the keystone to the built pkg file via:

orbis-pub-cmd pkg_file_add --passcode 00000000000000000000000000000000 --force <path to sources>\sce_sys\keystone sce_sys/keystone <path to pkg file>
then I build the patches from the final app pkg via:

orbis-pub-cmd img_create --oformat pkg --no_progress_bar --skip_digest --tmp_path temp <path to patch dir> temp/build
If anyone knows of a better way I can do this all in one go without giving me errors on the UI, let me know.
 
I did use gengp4-patched. Specifically, this video explicitly says not to use the GUI as it fails on games that require firmwares higher than 6.72

Which was why I defaulted to using the command line option for everything just in case. I tried using the gengp4-patched and the orbis-loader just to see what would happen but midway of generating the package, an error occurred and I had to abort it.

Actually I tried the whole process again, deleted the game, reinstalled it, dumped it, used the genp4-patched and orbis-loader and this time it didn't fail half way.

At least I got past that part. I'm trying to install the package and apply the patch, hopefully it all goes well. I'm guessing I might need to repackage the patch.
 
How can i get keystone for official package files and replace them to fpkgs if i dont have the official package file to get the original keystone.

Also, if there is a tutorial (preferably video tutorial if available) on overwriting the keystone of fpkg.
 
im looking for a keystone for eu gta 5 im not from there so i cant get one myself. if anyone could upload one for me i would appreciate it. i need it for some modded save. CUSA00411
