PS3 DTU from Fat (CFW) to SuperSlim (OFW) on External HDD?

I have two PS3 a Fat with 40gb HDD (Ferrox 4.82 cfw) and a Superslim with 500gb (4.82 ofw)

I want to know if it is possible to use the external HDD from the Fat for DTU, otherwise I can only transfer 40gb to my 500gb HDD
