While there are several PS3 OFW Methods and some older games that work on PS3 OFW 4.81 without a second console on Custom Firmware, it's time to reveal the final method to running PlayStation 3 game backups on 4.81. NO CFW/ODE/another bs. :ninja:

:alert: Be careful, there is a very high PSN ban risk. Already I lost few IDPS while online by testing this method. If you get banned on undowngradable console you got ban forever. Prefer to stay at 4.70 or to play offline. :alert:

This method I found few months later I decided to publish.

1. Put an original disc to your PS3. This game should be released after 2012! (these games already have lic.dat).
2. Download any game what you want.
3. Download game patch to this downloaded game.
4. Unpack patch to downloaded game replace everything you can.
5. Open now param.sfo
6. Change Title ID to your original disc game. Example I put to PS3 Uncharted 2 so I change title id to: BCES00757
7. Rename PS3_GAME folder to your original disc game on PS3 TITLEID Example BCES00757
8. Inject with TABR.
9. Start your game from BD. Now PS3 will start your game from patch.

Enjoy you tricked PS3 and launch another game from patch.
Nice security. LOLz.

After a few tries I only know that is possible to jump from a BD game to a PSN demo that is in GameData mode. I tried with some games with no success. The OP has to give more info...

This is useful but so time consuming. we just need a tool to read/write ps3 hdd from pc.

while ps3 hdd reader was released way back in 2013. i wonder what is still taking this long to enable the write option.

we can read/write ps2, xbox, xbox 360 hdd's. if same can happen to ps3. this all will become so easy
It's called Filezilla.

for addition, why did you test the method on CFW console anyway and declared it as a high ban risk, duh? test it on pure OFW console, and feel the ban on your own.
I just checked the files of Uncharted 2 and it did contain the lic.dat file. Maybe as long as the original disc game has a copy of the lic.dat file, it's okay to use the disc.

There's a problem, my BD-ROM isn't even spining, so I've teared My Super Slim apart, and saw that there's a missing control board that is sticked in the BD, because my PS3 is used, it was cheap, so that's what I can afford, isn't there other way to inject a game in an easier way temporarily?

I'm currently waiting for @esc0rtd3w to finish his webkitsploit project.

Really? That sucks. Your only hope is to do DTU with a cfw console. What is this webkitsploit made by escortd3w? Is it like Henkaku for ps3? Like, using the browser to execute the exploit?

It seems that this method is a hoax. I only get an error everytime I launch the game. This is like the 2nd time Nodex ripped me off. But then again, it seemed to work for him. To each man on his own, I guess.

Tested again booting from the injected game itself and from the original game itself. All I got is an error screen. I think Nodex has some explaining to do and a more elaborate way to do this method. If this does indeed work it will be a huge leap for us but sadly, we all just have to wait and have faith on escortd3w for what he will do. :)

I'll tag him so he sees this and can clarify some of the questions... also, has anyone besides @NodexNL got this method to work following his tutorial, and if so can you use his guide as a base and explain each step in a bit more detail for others? Thanks! <3
