PS4 6.50 BETA Firmware Invites Incoming and Details Surface

Following Sony's PS4 Beta Signups, the PS4 Beta PUP Updates and PSN Online ID Change Feature that was discovered today the latest wave of PlayStation 4 Beta 6.50 Firmware invites are going out to select users who previously joined their BETA software program.

A copy of the invitation can be seen below, and to quote from XtremePS3.com on the PS4 Firmware 6.50 BETA changes detailed thus far:

The changelog for the beta does indicate that two new features have been added to the update:

• You can now choose 720p when you broadcast using Niconico Live. This service is only available in certain countries and territories.

• You can now change the button assignment to perform “Enter” operations from the O button to the X button. This can be changed from the [Settings] > [System] menu, and is only available for specific countries and territories.

Warning: If you're on a jailbroken PS4 console don't update to the BETA as @DEFAULTDNB confirmed the following via Twitter, to quote:

"You can only downgrade to the current highest released OFW (in this case 6.20) regardless of what firmware you updated from. It's hard coded now."

Thats true. But not really the point.

If you want to upgrade and buy games you really dont need second console. If someone have ps for some time, or jumped to jailbreak early, he is already played everything that interest him. To play new games, he have to upgrade and buy, not a problem.

But, what to do, what use someone then have with second console that he keeps on 5.05? What you can do with it and you cannot do with updated? No homebrew, no some ultra cool app that is useful, really nothing..... Only to brag that he have jailbreaked console....

If one day current fw exploit is released, it will be the same for regular user with updated console and for us who will then update... And regular user is by that time already (again) played everything that interest him, so really, he dont need such exploit....

And that is my point and main problem in whole jailbreak thing - if scene dont follows update patches with exploits, scene is dead, and exploit released year or two behind ofw is somewhat useless for most of people.... In terms of playing games, thats the only thing thats matter.

So, maybe im missing something, but theres really no need to have two consoles

Don't use my Beta Code, we don't even use our ps4 anymore that much. My little ones play more on Xbox and PC, for me there aren't really interesting games i want to play since Detroit.

If the exploit still works on 6.50 and devs wont release it until sony patch it, they should ask us to update

Wasn't there an issue, that games need to be compiled on lower firmware to get work on e.g. 5.05?

So even with dumper on 6.xx it is not ensured that e.g. RDR2 is working on 5.05.

Or am I wrong

believe he was saying yet another game cracked on PC. CPY dropped denuvo from Hitman 2 as fast as Codex handled Resident Evil 2. Looking at 2019 release titles the only thing ps4, is nothing really. Nintendo has several exclusives, and everything major on xbone/ps4 is on pc.

Far Cry, Metro... I thought that Kojima game with Daryl from Walking Dead would be out this year, but it's listed as TBA. And srsly what kind of comment is that. "think i'll try some trainer out.. blamuamuablahblah.. " wtf Ya, cuz that's sure fun, playing with a bunch of bots in some shooter game. Whatever. Reading about what Vultra had for breakfast gotta be more entertaining than that.
