Plugged hdd into laptop and added a game, but everything was hanging, so had to manually shut down laptop.

Powered it back up and my hdd is not recognised by my PS4 , it’s showing up on my laptop but won’t let me browse the files, any ideas?

It’s 4TB full of games so not keen on formatting it.
Thx

It’s always the formatting. It only recognizes FAT32 and exFAT. You can use Windows to Format to exFAT or MiniTool Partition to format to FAT32. Be careful that formatting erases all content on the drive
you can't actually plug an hd into a laptop to add a game. I mean i suppose you could try with an app2usb drive but the linkage wouldn't be made so that wouldn't work. you can't do it with extended storage because the pc won't see the drive.

games are to be added to ps4 usb storage on ps4 that is it. period.
