• Since his PKG Passcode Finder v1, PlayStation 5 developer SvenGDK released on Github via X Post a PS5 PKG Reader for Linux (ps5pkgreader_1.0.0_amd64.deb / ps5pkgreader_1.0.0_amd64.tar.gz) dubbed PS5PKGReader v1 to read debug / retail PS5 PKG files and extract some (icon0.png, pic0.png, param.json & package-configuration.xml, if exists) content.
  
  
• Since his Live Die Repeat: A Tribute to Dragon's Lair PS4 FPKG release, PlayStation 4 developer @Lapy aka Lapy05575948 on X made available a Senua's Saga Hellblade II for PS4 hombrew game to enjoy the story with simulated gameplay.

I tested the Passcode Finder. I created an fpkg with the password 555555555... and left it searching for about 5 hours and it didn't find the password.

Then I downloaded an update for an official game and left it searching for the password for 2 days and it didn't find it either.

Has anyone here had any success with the Passcode Finder?

Good afternoon everyone, I recently purchased a tekken 8 disc, but I couldn't play it because I would have to update the OS, the game required this.

I was told that if the game is older than the firmware release, then you can't play it or dump it, is this really the case? Because some games came out much later than my firmware, I have 4.03. What would you say?

im really invested in the PS4/PS5 homebrew ecosystem, to that see SvenGDK’s PS5PKGReader advancing Linux-based PKG analysis— extracting metadata like param.json and package-configuration.xml is pivotal for reverse-engineering Sony’s packaging logic, especially for future debug toolchains and might help with modding.

Been holding out since 2022 for the PS5 jailbreak to really kick off.

My PS5 is still collecting dust but I'm pretty sure it will be used soon for the JRPGs I will be able to play. Still good though to have the PS4 fpkgs about to run on the PS5.
