Bought a Black PS4 PRO model CUH-7102B today with a date code of 8A with firmware 5.03. Looking like any PS4 with a date code of 8B has a good chance of being 5.50 or greater.

@greatbm
Region 02 is Australia and New Zealand. As for date of manufacture Sony only gives the date code so 8A sometime during Jan, Feb or March 2018.

Assuming they're untouched you'd only be looking at the FAT PS4 models CUH-10xx, CUH-11xx and CUH-12xx models. CUH-20xx model slims and CUH-70xx model Pros would depend on Date of manufacture. Definitely not any CUH-21xx model slims or CUH-71xx Pros.

Unfortunately to find out the date code the box needs to be opened and the PS4 taken out and you need to look at a sticker on the actual PS4. Assuming your able to do this before purchase you'd be looking for a date code of 7A to be 100% sure 4.55 or lower.

A date code of 7B could be 4.55, 4.70 or 4.71. Only way to tell is turning on the PS4.
