VPK Files Archive List Collection for HENkaku on a Hacked PS Vita
Following yesterday's HENkaku release for PlayStation Vita, here comes the usual flood of PS Vita homebrew applications, emulators and of course game ports for everyone to enjoy as VPK files! :D

We'll be updating this archive list collection with new PS Vita HENkaku VPK file downloads and GIT links as time permits, but in the meantime haxxey has started a great HENkaku resource for them located HERE which states:

VPK Mirror hosts VPK files for use with the PS Vita hack HENkaku. The MP3 option is there to allow downloading directly on a Vita. The downloaded MP3 file gets placed in a folder in ux0:music/, and the file extension can be changed to .vpk using molecularShell to allow it to be installed. (MP3 method is currently broken, use FTP instead!)

Henkaku VitaQuake.jpg:idea: You can also upload new PS Vita VPK's there using THIS page.

At a glance, here's a summary of which VPK files are available there (also on the Wiki) thus far:
  • Vita Doom VPK by Netrix (GIT)
  • vitaQuake by Rinnegatamante (GIT)
  • RetroArch cores by RetroArch (GIT)
  • GenesisPlusVita VPK by Frangar (GIT)
  • mGBA VPK by endrift (GIT)
  • Snes9xVITA VPK by skogaby (GIT)

HENkaku by Yifan Lu Brings PS Vita Homebrew to 3.60 OFW and Below
Last year we saw Rejuvenate to run emulators, homebrew games and apps on PlayStation Vita, and today Yifan Lu announced that HENkaku is on the way that will bring homebrew to PS Vita / PSTV owners who are on PS Vita Firmware 3.60 or below! :D

Here are some recent Tweets on it:

From Yifan Lu's Blog comes a brief HENkaku intro, to quote:

"For the last couple of months, molecule (composed of I along with Davee, Proxima, and xyz) have been working hard to bring you an easy-to-use homebrew solution. The result is HENkaku (変革), the first HEN for the Vita."

Also from the official HENkaku Site:

HENkaku 変革

The revolution is here. Unlock your Vita and run unofficial games and applications.

What is HENkaku?

VitaDoom HENkaku is the first ever homebrew enabler for PS Vita and PSTV. It is akin to jailbreaking your iPhone or rooting your Android device.

Homebrew are games and other software not officially approved. For example, VitaDoom is a port of the classic game DOOM and mGBA lets you play Game Boy Advance ROMs. You can find more examples in the showcase.

Best of all, HENkaku is 100% free. No cost. No ads. No “donations”.

How do I get it?

PlayStation 4 System Software 4.0 Beta Firmware Sign-Ups Now Open
Following the PS4 3.00 Beta and PS4 3.50 Beta, today Sony's John Koller announced that their PlayStation 4 System Software 4.0 Beta sign-ups are officially underway!

The current PlayStation 4 Firmware is on version 3.55, with a sneak peek of what features may be coming in PS4 Firmware 4.00 for those curious. ;)

To quote: "We’ve been hard at work on the next PS4 system software update, and could use your help testing it ahead of the official launch. Starting today, you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4.

Click here to sign up. You can register to be a beta tester anytime between today and the start of the beta in early August. Users must be 18 years or older. Once the beta starts, we’ll close registration — so don’t delay!

As you may recall, we ran betas for the PS4’s 3.00 and 3.50 system software updates. Participants got to see all kinds of upcoming features before they were officially rolled out, like Events, Communities, and more.

If you’re part of the program, you’ll receive an email with instructions on downloading the beta version of the next system software. In order to sign up, you’ll need a PS4 with an internet connection, and access to a Master Account. And remember — you can roll back to the previous system software, version 3.55, at any time.

:alert: Warning: If you're on a jailbroken PS4 console don't update to the BETA as @DEFAULTDNB confirmed the following via Twitter, to quote:

"You can only downgrade to the current highest released OFW (in this case 6.20) regardless of what firmware you updated from. It's hard coded now."...
