Andy Nguyen (theflow0) to Speak on PS4 / PS5 BD-JB Exploit at Hexacon 2022

Security Engineer Andy Nguyen (theflow0) will be speaking at the Hexacon 2022 offensive security conference held in Paris, France that runs from October 14-15th this year presenting a new attack vector and a firmware-agnostic ROP-less exploit on both PS4 and PS5 in his BD-JB: Blu-ray Disc Sandbox Escape talk at 17:15 (5:15 PM) on Saturday, October 15th.

This comes following his BD-JB PS4 / BD-JB PS5 presentation of the Blu-ray Disc Java Sandbox Escape (PDF) at the HardWear.io Conference 2022, which can be restreamed via HardWear.io's YouTube Channel with both a PS4 BD-JB Partial Reimplementation and PS5 BD-JB Partial Reimplementation resulting from PS4Scene / PS5Scene devs thus far alongside some developer hints.

While unconfirmed if this will indeed be the same presentation verbatim, @hyndrid optimistically speculates in the Tweets below that perhaps the KEX release was saved for this conference... although...

Following the Dying Light 1.31 Extras Dev / Cheat Menu PS4 PKG, Dying Light 2: Stay Human Dev / Cheat Menu PS4 PKG and his Black Ops III GSC Mod Menu by CabCon PS4 Port this weekend PlayStation 4 Scene developer @DEv ShOoTz shared on Twitter a PS4 Dying Light 1.35 Update (CUSA03991) with Extras Developer Cheat Menu for those with a Jailbroken PS4 console.

PS4 DualShock 4 Controller Script to Control Roomba & Play MIDI Songs

Earlier this week researcher danielzuegner with help from MaxBandle shared via Twitter a script on his Github repository to control a Roomba robot vacuum cleaner and play MIDI songs using a PS4 DualShock 4 Controller... I bet all my fur babies would love this!

With this small project you can control your Roomba with a PlayStation 4 controller and play Midi songs.

Installation

Setup

Check whether your Roomba has a micro USB port. I have a Roomba 960 and the USB port is located under a section of the chassis on the bottom right. See the image below for details:
Connect a computer with the USB port I've used a Raspberry Pi Zero W with a powerbank, but other options should work.
Clone this repo on the computer you want to use to control your Roomba
Connect the computer to your PS4 controller, e.g., as described here.
Figure out the device interface of the USB connection to your Roomba. For my Raspberry Pi, the port is /dev/ttyACM0.
Figure out the device interface of the Bluetooth connection to your PS4 controller. In my case, this is /dev/input/js0.

Usage

Once your setup is complete, simply run:

and have fun! Steering is straightforward with the L3 analog stick. Vaccuuming can be turned on with R2. I've added a couple of songs to play on the square, x, circle, triangle, up arrow, and down arrow buttons...
