PS3 OFW 4.81 Backup Games Injection LICDIR Mods Listing and Guide

Yesterday we saw a brief guide covering PS3 Games with Older LIC.DAT Titles, and @ShadixAced shared a link HERE of a PlayStation 3 game compilation listing that can be injected with backups using PARAM.SFO license directory modifications with update patches running on OFW 4.75 through 4.81.

If you want to prepare the specified games for the console on the console, then see below: The method, how to make the game work, is pretty simple. The game should have an official patch (and how else will we launch it from the internal disk?).

The patch is being unpacked, the contents of USRDIR, except for EBOOT.BIN and updated files (if any) are taken from the disk version. PARAM.SFO (from the disk) is edited. Change the Category from DG to HG and App Version to the patch version.

hey rayman legends work but there is a sea stage where the game dont work so u can play some levels only

Check this link, Catalinnc listed around 149 games and he stated its eligible for this backup injection method on 4.81.

Yes but he says those games MIGHT work. I tried POP 2008 and FEAR 2 , they didn't work. Maybe if more people are willing to try , we could test more of those 149 games.

I can try games on my PS3 OFW 4.81. Let me know the game and injection method and I will try on my console. In fact, I've been trying to inject games since long. Maybe the culprit is my PS3 model: CECH-3004A.

You are free to try any game from the link above. But, can you try Alone In The Dark [BLES00422] [BLUS30232]. Steps are also mentioned there. Only step missed is you need to keep the PARAM.SFO from PS3_GAME and update app version alone from the update patch's PARAM.SFO.

im tried RE5 by copying all file in patch folder except param.sfo, it didnt work, black screen and then the console restart itself. now i will try by just copying the content in USRDIR only except eboot.bin.

im guessing every game have its own special method to make it works by copying some files from the patch.

Yes, I too think of the same. There are few more methods with little modifications.

Yes, we need to try games with Updates and without LIC.DAT - preferably released before 2010.

So, did you try MGS4 ? Any success for RE5 ?
