PS3 OFW 4.81 Backup Games Injection LICDIR Mods Listing and Guide

Yesterday we saw a brief guide covering PS3 Games with Older LIC.DAT Titles, and @ShadixAced shared a link HERE of a PlayStation 3 game compilation listing that can be injected with backups using PARAM.SFO license directory modifications with update patches running on OFW 4.75 through 4.81.

If you want to prepare the specified games for the console on the console, then see below: The method, how to make the game work, is pretty simple. The game should have an official patch (and how else will we launch it from the internal disk?).

The patch is being unpacked, the contents of USRDIR, except for EBOOT.BIN and updated files (if any) are taken from the disk version. PARAM.SFO (from the disk) is edited. Change the Category from DG to HG and App Version to the patch version.

Those games weren't personally tested by him; just compiled based off of the fact that they have an update and no Lic.dat present. By the instructions, these games from the list don't work (tested already):

• Bioshock
• Fallout 3 (Both)
• Far Cry 2
• GTA IV (Both)
• Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe
• Overlord 2
• Resistance 2
• Saints Row 2
• Sonic Unleashed
• Soul Calibur IV
• Street Fighter IV
• WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009

Pretty sure at least half of the list itself doesn't work. Unfortunately, having an update + having no Lic.dat + being from 2009 or earlier doesn't guarantee it'll play.

did you try it with insert bluray disk game in ps3 (any game )? , those games you've tested must have a workaround method , the only thing needed is just trying and trying to figure it out

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe is working tested by Russian PS3 it's already listed there

I've tested Two of prince of persia and AC1 , they all from Ubisoft but I got the same issue blackscreen , but those people with ODE have confirmed that they do work with insert any ps3 game disk

Yes but the disc-swap-trick works only for ODE

no you got me wrong bro, If you have ode and inject games then you don't need the swap trick anymore even if you over 4.55 for slim ver , only you need insert disk in all the time like if you're on 4.50 or lower that do not require swap disk in ode , So it's like if you've CFW

sum up CFW = Ode+ injection

So Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe is working using inject method on 4.81? Can you provide the link from the russian site.

Even I tried POP 2008 sometime back with 2-3 inject methods [another game disc was always inserted], all failed.

hey why not we try to extract .forge files in prince of persia then maybe it can work according to the tips mentioned in this link https://www.psxhax.com/threads/tips-on-tabr-v2-2-for-ps3-games-on-ofw.2750/ blackscreen reason is given

I don't thing so , cause this game work without extract .forge files in ODE ps3 , also that Blackscreen tip that was mentioned there is talking about psarc archive and it has extractor but .forge didn't have one

even though we extract those files , ps3 will ask about them cause he can't notice those folders through eboot

I Don't have console right now , but if you're in middle of injection try it with insert any game disk inside ps3 before starting a game , I've already check several methods but I've forget this one to try

you have to modify eboot if you want to boot the game with those extracted files, so modified eboot doesn't work on ofw so try another method
