Requesting Suggestions for PS4 2.50

Hi Guys,

Just bought a new PS4 with FW 2.50. I am curious to know:

1.) What all apps can be installed to unlock the potential of my console.

2.) Should I update the FW as one of the games (Digimonstory Cybersleuth) I purchased for my kid is asking me to update the FW to 3.11 or above before it can be installed and played.

All the suggestions would be highly appreciated.

PS: The console model is CUH-1206B B01 (1 TB) which was bought in Malaysia.

For developers there are some PS4 Apps, a PS4 FTP Server, PS4 Linux guides, PS4 Webkit Playground and PS4 Debug Mode to tinker with... but for end-users not as much yet beyond PS4 gamesharing with trusted friends and family.

As for updating the PS4 Firmware, the latest is OFW 3.55 but as you can see it patches potential exploits such as the BDLive bug... so if you simply must update it's probably best to update to as low a FW version as possible instead of the most recent.

Here's an archive of all the PS4 Firmware update files that may be of use, since you can't download older versions from Sony's site except for the current one.

I think as of now I will stick to PS4 gamesharing and also play the games I bought with my console. Do not wish to take any risk so soon .

As for updating the firmware, I have no option but to go on v3.11 as I need to get Digimonstory Cybersleuth running for my kid.

Finally updated the firmware to 3.11 for the game but the game is not worth it . Even my kid didn't like it LoL. It's more of story than any actual game play.

Don't update anymore if you want to wait for a jb to come or play legit

Thanks for the advice RickyRedDot. I think I will stick to 3.11 till the jb is out. Bought 4 games with my console and all of them work with the current FW.

No problem, @Graveyard it's just all for the point if you'll rather wait or if you want to play legit another alternative is having 2 ps4's like back in the ole days on 3.55 - 4.00 have an OFW and a CFW just all relys on what you want to do.

I am willing to wait rather than go for a second PS4 as I have an alternate to keep me busy. My Nintendo Wii is keeping me entertained and I have loads of games which I am yet to play.

As for my PS4 games, I may be able to complete all the levels in another week

I like that sense of Confidence and Amusement as long it keeps you happy xD
