I don't remember, it's been for 3 years! I bought that one PS3 Fat CFW.
PS3 Fat LAN broken only.
PS3 CFW and e3 flasher is works fine, also can use WiFi.
I told you my last message, i'll trying to use network settings done to loading is stopped to be freeze the PS3.

I'd be tempted to open it and check the WiFi thin cable is secure.
Very slim chance the lan socket being broken is causing the freeze. try the downgrade pup as chaos suggested and use 3.55cfw

or
Downgrade to Rebug 3.55.4 999 DGR.

Ahh yes those memory issues from moderating team, I do not get them for some reason and remember very clear, funny is in it how you can remember stuff when you have done it personally
1. downgrader 999
2. install CFW 3.55 of your choice
3. install package with toggle_qa.pkg and use it to dehash system so there will be no RSOD, use key combo to be sure on network settings > power off > enter recovery menu
4. install 3.55 OFW
5. format system from safe mode / format hdd externally
6. reinstall 3.55 OFW (only for NOR if you have formatted hdd externally)
7. Install CFW of your choice from safe mode.

I don't judge but I would expect more from moderating team, not just my memory is fuzzy mine is not fuzzy @ all and remember well. Just added more instruction in post you know just in case some memory issues occurs again.
