Hello PSXHAX, today PlayStation 4 Developer Zecoxao shared a new GitHub from DS4User containing a DualShock 4 (DS4) PS4 Firmware dump and reverse-engineering tools for other devs to examine! :ninja:

Previously, we have seen PS4 Developer J0lama release his DS4 Linux Library to control DualShock 4 Controllers which you can view here if you haven't seen it yet: J0lama's DS4.lib

Tools for working with DualShock 4

With fw of controller, it is possible to do interesting things like:

  • implement native pairing on other host devices
  • present custom hardware as "official" DS4 to PS4

over USB in order to have console send the bluetooth link key and host address.

Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone has used the information released by Zecoxao about the DS4 Firmware reversing.

In particular, I am trying to understand how the authentication works and how it's possible to implement the pairing with an DIY controller and re-use (if possible) the keys provided in the article.

I know that there is a commercial product (Universal fighting board) that does this, but I'd like to know if someone else is working on such thing.
